Does anyone use anything besides tapwater for soaking or rinsing sprouts? My tapwater isn't filtered, lots of chlorine, fluoride, god knows what else.

I've thought of soaking in distilled but it seems wasteful. I've also read that the distilled water has a higher capacity to remove things like minerals, because it's "empty" it can hold more. Not sure if that's a nutritional concern, probably not.

I've tried using (food grade) hydrogen peroxide for rinsewater, something like .2%. It makes the sprouts sound like rice crispies, they don't seem to mind. The idea was to prevent fungal growth. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, I rinse with straight water as the last rinse.
