A wave from the Bay Area!!
I am 48, just finished my third Master Cleanse and liver flush and ready for raw, raw raw... I have had such a change of heart and palate since my first MC which started in October.. Raw food speaks to my body and cooked food simply make sme feel odd, unwell, puffy, cranky, restless, impatient and constantly hungry. Raw food satisfies.. I naturally get satisfied.. and these last two days of fulfilling my 'cravings' from the cleanse have been so unexciting - except for the raw food. I came here from a post on the Living and Raw Foods Board - explored and checked out Alissa - Gorgeous and such a reflection of my inner goal of radiant health that I got excited...
So, I am waving and saying Hey!!
I have a website of my journey since the Master Cleansees..
http://www.ellenharris.com/MasterCleanseJournal.html
I previously was a follower and student of Macrobiotics, so vegan is easy for me.. and I have a 30 year old struggle with food that I want to abandon and allow to shrivel and die.. I know that my obesity is a reflection of real starvation and raw foods feed me. So, I am joining you all for this next step on my path of healing.. grin
I am a self employed doll maker, love movies, my city, was married and am now happily solitary, and I want to live in my ideal, radiantly healthy body now.
I love the photos and feeling of this site. And I will be getting Alissa's book and DVDs soon.
Best Always,
LN

Hi LN. I'm in the Bay Area too. I live in Emeryville and work in Oakland. where are you?I've been 60-80% raw now for 3 weeks... I've lost 10 lbs and when I eat raw I feel so full of energy and alive! I've been vegan for 4 years now and since I had a baby 3 years ago...I've been 35 lbs overweight even on a vegan (albeit processed and "junk food") diet. I'm excited to continue this weight loss and take on a high energy lifestyle!
Welcome to the group.

HI!! yes, we are in Davenport at Palmer... We considered life but we just didn't think it was right for us. I hate iowa. I wanna come home!!
My husband left Intel and a six figure income to do this, I 'm worried sick about the success. I fear the USA is saturated with Chiro's now. I wanna make a good living and at least pay off my loans. He is 47 and will be 50 when he is done. I"m ALOT younger.. HAHAHA i'm 39.. but still he has a lot less years to work than most. Am I worrying too much?
Best Regards,
Penni

Hi new to forum live in Chico
Hi LN
New kid on block. I just entered my name in the registry. I am 51 man living in Chico (kinda close to the Bay). Sounds like you are in the right place.
I'm new to raw but enjoying the energy and feeling of well being...my current diet for last month is mostly raw although I still make croutons for my salads and eat a few dollops of goat yogurt on my fruit salads. Your cleanse diet intrigues me...is that the one where you end up eliminating lots of mucoid plaque and other rather wierd stuff you couldn't possibly believe existed in your body?? I'm thinking I would benifit as until recently I've been eating the good ole American anything diet...how do you find out the who what and where about doing it?
thanks
Mark

nice to meet you
Hi Ellen,
Funny to see you here as I was researching the MC and came across your journal. It was interesting to read and I was somewhat concerned as to what had happened (the last time I had read it, you said you were taking a break because of some family thing (I think)).
Anyway, this is my 13th days of the MC. I will be done tomorrow and I agree with you, I am so ready for raw foods. I went to the markets yesterday and bought 10 lb of oranges (to break the fast), 10 lbs of apples, 6 lbs of bananas, 6 pints of strawberries, and greens galore.
I live in Monterey Bay, Ca. So not too far from all you Bay Area people.
Welcome.

I am in Pacifica! It so great to see that so many Bay Area people are involved in a raw food lifestyle.
This is extreme late notice, but, I will be at Cafe Gratitude ( San Francisco -- 20th and Harrison) tomorrow at 11 a.m. I will be at a table of 3 kids and 3 adults.
If you can meet up with us, please introduce yourselves!
