Juicing with a blender?
I have a Champion juicer and love it! But I am very limited on time these days for all the cutting up, juicing, clean-up, etc... so this morning I blended in my Vitamix: carrots, apple, spinach, and some ginger to experiment. I blended, strained it, and the juice was great and the clean-up so quick and easy.
Any opinions on the quality of making juice this way? And it did seem to make the same amount that I'd get out of the juicer so I don't think there was any extra waste.
Just curious what others think!
(Note-I also drink 1 to 2 quarts of green smoothies a day too, I like the juice first thing though in the morning because it is nice and light on an empty tummy!)

In one of the DVDs I have, Victoria Boutenko tells how to make juice in the Vitamix ... just the way you described.

did ya ever try adding water to the pulp in order to wick more nutrients out .
after adding water let sit for several minutes so nutrients can seep into water then strain .
ive , in my cheap $25 blender , always filled it half with water then included greens and or fruit (not banana too mushy) , blended - let sit several minutes - strained .
works great for wheat grass also .

Actually I did add some water so this is good information to know, thank you! And I've been wanting to add some wheat grass into my diet, I'll sure try doing it this way adding it to the other veggies/fruits I am using. Great idea!
