    Julie,

Thanks for your wealth of wisdom. Several years back I ordered about 5 from their website, tried using them and at the time I didn't get a bumper crop to brag about. I would try again however. Yes, the boxes are super heavy to move around. I have an area inside where I could do winter gardening too. This was my intention to have tomatoes when they are super pricey. I love the concept and now since my husband dumped all the soil out, would have to get fresh soil or use my compost here.

The covers are thin and thinking since may have disappeared using black plastic and sticking the plants through some self made holes would work. I have heard of people getting bumper crops and even growing tomatoes in Alaska in basement using grow lights.

I would recommend them. I think I paid about $35 each. They are sturdy plastic.

Julie, did you try growing several tomatoe plants in them? I was thinking Zucchini too. Have you tried these?

    Default I think

I think they'd be great for tomatoes and for things I use a lot of like parsley, kale, lettuce... even just a salad garden would be so nice!
