juicer for green leafies
Hey-
I need a juicer that will handle things like wheatgrass, kale, spinach, romaine, chard, beets, cucumbers, celery, apples, lemons, limes, and ginger- the things that I juice all the time.
I have a centrifugal juicer that I got at a thrift store for 9 dollars, but it has trouble with large amounts of tough greens, as well as the citrus peels and ginger. The pulp is also quite wet, and not masticated very well. I feel as though I may as well get a juicer that really gets all the minerals out of my greens.
I am also on a very, very tight budget.
Any recomendations?

Green Life, Green Power ~ whatever they are calling it now is number one in my book. Medium priced. I recently purchased the Samson and love it for it's versatility and comparatively light weight.

$2200 is high-priced. There are others in the $800 range as well.
You're welcome.

Thanks Revell.
I can't spend more than 100 dollars or so.

I just bought the omega 8005 for $215 on -line free shipping.
It juices everything and also makes nut butter.
There is a thread on it here somewhere.

Putting in another good word for the Omega 8005. It juices everything you put in your list of things you want to juice, and it has a lot of other useful functions as well. I love it! I got it for around $200 (maybe $220? I can't remember now) at 877myjuicer.com. Was a great place to deal with and like I said, I really, really LOVE the juicer.
Some people say you can't juice certain things (like strawberries and canteloupe) and I've juiced them in the 8005 just fine. Love it, can't say enough good things about it.

That's what I'm getting after Christmas if "Santa" has any $$$ left! ;)

By the way, does the Omega 8005... the "chrome" part look really plastic? If so, I'm going for the white one. Thanks.

Yes and no. To just look at it, all clean, it looks good and not super plastic. It smudges really easily though, so that makes it look more plastic-y. So while it's good for preventing juice stains, it does need to be wiped down after use if you touch it a lot to move it around. However, I have to say, I don't think I've ever gotten any juice on any of the "chrome" part of the juicer, so getting the white one would be fine. I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem with stains because the juicer doesn't send juice shooting out to make stains. I got the chrome one because I expected more of a mess when there really never is one. Either one would be fine, it just depends on which look you like better.
I'm excited for you that you're getting one. It's almost Christmas too! :)

Omega 8005....good choice for what you want to do. The price is about the most reasonable you will find in this type juicer. I got mine for alittle over 200.00
