Default Any low-fat raw energy bars out there???

    Hi,

I don't really eat a lot of energy bars, but I like to have them on hand for pre-bike racing as well as when I'm out and about doing errands for a snack.

I used to eat Larabars, but they have 9-12 g of fat per bar.

Are there any raw energy bars out there that are lower fat?

BTW, I really hope to not get any answers that are preachy, if you catch my drift...thanks for understanding that :)

    Gratitude,
    L

I've just recently tried Garden of Life's Perfect Food/Whole Food bars... the Red Raspberry was especially delicious. These all run 3.5-6g total fat per bar.

Otherwise I don't know. Most of them are higher in fat simply because they have the base of nuts and/or seeds..

Tough one. Maybe you could try making your own, fruit based ones? Or make fruit leathers with spirulina/maca/goji or some other superfoods added in... That way you can control the amount of fat in there... otherwise

Thanks :) I think I'll stay with Larabars for now. Maybe I just need variety and I can alternate with Raw Crunch or something :)

Or maybe I'm just paranoid about fat because of all of the posts here in the past about how fat is bad, etc. Ugh! I mean, hello, I'm 95 percent raw and if you read Alyssa's book she explains about the good fats when you are raw, etc.

Sorry about my bear growls here...Just venting and releasing...Not directed at anyone specifically :)

Hugs and thanks for the help!

There is a vegan raw bar you can buy in your local superstore and they are aprox 2.49 for a bar.. but not really low fat. Maybe 10g fat and 280 cals. But if its raw.. your body is going to use it as pure fuel, not much of that fat will stick to your body as long as you keep moving. ;)
