Default little help please - concerning possible detox??

I've been 95-100% RAW for over 2 years and love it. Lately I've been struggling with that percentage. . .

A little bite of this, a little bite of this -- it's tough having to cook for a SAD family! Anyway, last night I blew it and had 2 brownies, with icing (no, I did not make them, I'd of eaten the whole pan full!). I really have a problem keeping my hands out of sweets! Last week it was honey roasted peanuts!

Problem is, today my lower back really hurts! I don't want to move! My lower back never hurts. And no, I haven't done any physical activity to cause it.

So, anyone else had this symptom? Oh, my shoulders also hurt, especially the left one.

I know I need to and will get back to 100% raw. Any other advice?

    Thanks guys!

Could be a number of things. Detox and back pain are big though.

Usually I give anything like that 3 days. It usually changes or improves by the time the 3 days are up.

Oh, Sharon, you made me laugh out loud about the disco thing. I have not checked it out -- I will!

    Thanks for the input.

I just remembered, I did do a little snow shoveling yesterday, but very little. I managed to get my new all-wheel drive van stuck in our driveway. You know, one foot of snow is just too deep to make that vehical plow through -- or so I discovered. Such fun!

I know what you mean - our little Rav4 has gotten stuck in the snow even though it's a 4 wheel drive.

However I ended up shoveling about 200 feet of driveway yesterday. Veyr sore arms here!

Also maybe try making some raw treats (like date nut torte or Rawpriestess' brownies) to always have on hand just in case?

Like Sharon said, it could be a number of things. But keep in mind when you go from eating foods that are easily digestable and good for you body, to eating something cooked and processed and as far from natural as it can be.. your body may be struggling to digest it and accept it. Which can in turn, cause a number of unpleasant symptoms!

After I had been all raw for 6 months I ate some cooked pinto beans, the very next morning it hit my back. I had chronic back pain before going raw. As long as I stay all raw, I have no pain in my body at all. I've on the raw path for 5 years now, and have gone back and forth many times, and the same thing happens. My wife went back to eating cooked food again, and sometimes that's hard, but as long as I stay all raw, it isn't too bad. The way I look at it, I'm going to enjoy that cooked treat for only a couple minutes, but I'm going to suffer for it a long time. This is so worth it to me to have this easy moving, pain free body. Guess I said enough, huh!

Thanks for everyone's feedback. As of late this afternoon, the pain has really subsided. I'm thinking I may be able to exercise after all tonight.

And about keeping the sweet goodies on hand -- I use to, but I ate way too many and couldn't loose the weight. So I quit making them and now am trying to figure out the pro and cons considering it. If I make them, I eat too many. If I don't make them, I eat everything else that comes my way and smells remotely sweet. Quite a delimia for me. . . I would love to think it will pass, but I know better. I really need to figure out why sweets have such a hold on me and solve that problem.

    Thanks!

I see that you can reallly use one or two sweets tucked away in your freezer for emergencies when you get a craving or are around cooked treats. I always have something ready for when the craving kicks in. The beauty of going 100% raw for me is being able to eat whatever I want. Sometimes for a few days or maybe even a week I eat more sweets than usual.

I listen to my body and don't feel guilty because I had two huge pieces of Blueberry Pie or a plate full of Strawberry Crepes. I wouldn't be able to live 100% raw if it weren't for the sweets!

I get to eat the most amazing desserts on the planet! I always keep a cheesecake and chocolate fudge in the freezer for friends or just when I want a slice or two. Some of the really hearty desserts fill me up so much I can't even finish a slice.

Alissa created some amazing desserts in her book Living on Live Food and there are many recipes on this site as well.

I am raw and living because I get to eat all the sweets my big heart desires!

Desserts that are raw and living are VERY filling!

Same thing here-after being very high raw for about 7 months, I started eating lots of cooked beans and I had the worst lower back pain soon after. There is definitly a connection!
