    Default Spam-please Read

    Hi, all,
I was thinking because we have so many wonderful people here who are so great at reporting spam, maybe this will help us all out

when you see a spam, or suspected spam, please post to the thread something along this line

    reported this post

then click on the red triangle, and report it,

this will allow everyone to see that it has been sent to the moderators.

now, please understand, we'd much rather receive 100 reports than none at all, this isn't to keep anyone from reporting a post, it's just to let everyone know that we have been notified.

maybe this will also keep you all from having to read through a post that you may think is questionable, and what we mods can do, is IF a post has been reported as spam, and we think it is okay, we can post that we think it is okay, if we delete it, then no one will need to see it again.

I just thought this might work, so keep doing what you are doing about reporting, and if you remember to post that you have reported it, then great, if you forget, no big deal,

we truly appreciate all your hard work in helping us mods keep this forum the wonderful and non-spam place that it has been for so long,

    thank you all

Great idea... I always wonder when I report something if you are getting another 10 people doing the same. If we all do this is will same you heaps of work. I will make a point to always post that it's reported. Thanks for the idea!

Earlier today there was a spam. I clicked on it to report it, and saw a horrible and disturbing picture. I got out of there quick because I have kids around.

So now they are posting lewd pictures, so I am not sure I will be able to keep reporting it. I'm still trying to get the mental image out!

Part of me wants to pray for these people, but the other part wants to give them a round-house kick upside the head!

    No worries, Sharon,

Please DO NOT open anything that you know is spam or that you might find disturbing, you can always email me at cdwinters@aol.com and say, HEY, look in off topid, or whatever, in the subject line, that way, I can see it immediately and go there, I am almost always on line during the day into midnight, unless I have to run into town, usually wed night and fri night, but most other times, I am here, or you can just leave it, and know that someone else will report it.

please do not feel you must report it or open anything, there are many people who report most posts, and I'm sure they will continue.

Please remove that pick, replace it with a pretty pic, I think I know the one you are referrring to, it was a bad photoshop pic, it wasn't real anyway, just imagine what the person had to cut and past to make it, makes me laugh, thinking of cutting and pasting THAT, LOL

I consider a first post that's not relevant to be possible spam, even if it doesn't contain a link. There's one about Christmas gifts.

Pierre, you are absolutely right, if their first post is in off topics, I will most assuredly delete it, as Rawkinlocs stated, most people won't even go there on their first post, so rest assured, we are on the prowl, thank you all so much for helping us,

and to those of you who consistantly report these posts, we truly appreciate you, as you make our job so much easier.

    THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!
together we can rid our wonderful board of all of this spam!

Is there a way for moderators to censor all newbie's first posts? There are some boards where one's first post isn't really posted until aproved by a moderator and then, subsequent posts are no longer censored.

    RawPriestess,

It was just a suggestion. I am very weary of posts, on topic or not, when the poster has only a single post and never replies.
By the way, I haven't recieved your newsletter lateley.

    How're doing?

    Lot's of love,

    Craig
