Terrific juicer - does it all!
We've had an Omega 8005 (chrome finish, 8003 is white finish) for several years now. We use it often (3-4 times per week) and are ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with it.
First of all, it can juice anything - all veges (including leaves), fruits, grasses. No need to buy a wheat grass juicer and a vege/fruit juicer.
It doesn't "chew" the food like a Champion. It squeezes the food through a tight opening using an auger. There is no real speed or heat generated to ruin your juice. It also comes with a "blank" for making nut butters and pates. We've never had any sort of maintenance problem.
Clean up - the real test of how often you might use the juicer - is a snap! It just takes a couple of minutes to disassemble, rinse and wash the pieces. It even comes with a big toothbrush-looking thing to get the screen clean. Assembly is quick and painless. There isn't anything dangerous to handle.
The pulp comes out dryer than from a Champion. We have several friends who've owned Champions and they salivate over our Omega. A couple have even ditched their old one and gotten one like ours. They juice more often since it is EASY.
If you are committed to juicing and raw foods preparation, this is the juicer to buy. It is usually around $240 if you shop around online.

agree this is a great juicer

Another thing that is great about the Omega is how easy and fast it is to clean!

I concur - great to hear others like it too!

thank-you so much for your suggestion. I was looing for a good juicer. I found the omega on-line for 214.00 and free shipping at Livingright.com
For others who are interested, you have to get a special coupon through their website to get the discounted price. They will e-mail you a coupon code.

I love, love, love, LOVE my Omega juicer! I am kinda bummed I got the 8003 before the 8005 came out though. Same juicer, but the chrome is so much prettier. Oh well though! :)
Everyone thinks the Champion is the holy grail of juicers, but I really think the Omega 8003/8005 is!

I think I will buy myself one after Christmas.....I've been researching....and so far, I was only torn between the Champion or the Omega.....Omega it is!!

How would you compare the Omega to the Green Star?
I have both the Champion and the Green Star. I find that the Green Star is best for greens but it takes so long to wash. The Champion is a snap to clean up but it is not great with greens or celery and leaves a really wet pulp.
Any ideas?

I finally tried my Omega juicer and juiced veggies & apples. I love it so much! It's so fun & so easy to clean up.
However, it doesn't juice apples very well; still lots of pulp in the juice. Any suggestions?

Love my Omega. I have been juicing Greens with carrots and cucumbers daily. It is so easy to use and clean. I bought one for my sister for Christmas.
There is a strainer that comes with it so for the apple pulp just pour juice through strainer.

Try the screen - ours came with a screen that fits over the juice catch cup. Or, pour the juice through a screen to strain it before you drink it

I did this, 2X, but still had too much pulp.

Does anyone have any idea:
If you have you both the Omega to the Green Star, how do they compare?

Great thread. I have been thinking about buying a juicer and this just made it so easy. $210 isn't all that bad for something that works well. When I think about how often I use my food processor and vitamix, I know the $200 will be well worth it! Thanks!

Hi. I just got my 2005 omega in the mail, but it contained no instructions? Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

The quality of the apples is what causes the pulpy juice. If you get fresh/er hard, crispy apples then the juice isn't pulpy. If your apples are soft or grainy then you get pulpy juice. I had the same problem until I put two and two together with the quality of the apples. I have the same problems with pears as well.
Hope that helps!
