Default Sprouting hemp seeds and sunflower seeds

    Hello!

I bought hemp seeds, both with the shell (sorry, is that the correct word) and without. I tried sprouting the ones with the shell but I did not suceed, tried several times putting them in water for longer or shorter.

Do I have to have sunflowerseeds with shell to be able to sprout them?

Can I put the ones without shell (both kinds of seeds) in water to make them easiler digestable? How long?

    How do I sprout radish?

    Thanks!

I do not have any info for hemp seeds. I buy them but I just add them to my green smoothies
Radish should be soaked for 4 to 6 hours and then sprouted for anywhere between 2 and 6 days rinsing at least twice per day.
The non black sunflower seeds should still be soaked (overnight is great) even if you do not intend to sprout them. It reduces that inhibitors.
I do a big batch and then dry in the dehydrator and store.

Dont have a dehydrator yet, how long do they stay fresh if dehydrating them vs not dehydrating?

Guess you have the shelled hemp seeds??

The sunflower seeds, can you sprout the shelled ones?

    Thank you!

If you do not have a dehydrator then only soak as you need or else freeze after soaking as I think that 2 or 3 days is as long as they would keep in the fridge.
I get the shelled hempseeds from www.detoxyour world.com

I can not recall if I have sprouted the shelled sunflower seeds but I think that I have planted them to get sunflower greens.

the growing of hemp is highly regulated, and when I last checked, licensed producers of it must only sell the seed in a non-viable form. So the ones with the hull are usually roasted, and the raw ones without the hull won't grow because they're split out of their shell.

The raw ones without hull are excellent and versatile in that form without need to sprout IMO.

Ha! You must live outside the US.... can't get raw hemp seeds with hulls here. Hemp is a weed; it sprouts quite easily. Just treat it like broccoli or radish seeds.
