    Default OK here is the thing.....

    I havn't been here in a while because I am making great steps in recovering form my Eating Disorder and haven't been concentrating on health. Seems like a bit of a contradiction doesn't it. Now that I am doing much better and better coping mechanisms I want to get back into raw food. However the idea of it is really triggering me. I don't know if I will be able to handle... I think my brain sees it as restricting and wants me to binge. I can't go on eating the way I have been... my face is broken out, I'm pale, allergies etc. Has anyone had experience with this... any advice? I'm going to talk to my therapist about it tomorrow.

    That's wonderful, cassidy. Am I correct that your therapist is supportive of your desire to eat more healthfully? If so, you are certainly on your way, and it would be wise to ask her for specifics as to coping mechanisms for when triggers arise and for tools to deal with your particular problem issues and situations. They are different for everyone.

    All the best to you on your healing journey. I think getting those coping mechanisms from a professional are crucial to recovery and not just dealing with one single issue (like simply changing what one eats, no matter how good that may be) for true, lasting recovery and healing.
