Calling all kitten owners.....
PLEASE HELP!!
I got a kitten 1 week ago today. She was so healthy and happy when we first got her(or so i thought). But after 3 days of having her she starting to sleep all day,not wanting to eat,she has not used the restroom in like 35 hours or so.She wines and wants to be held like a baby all day long.I really do not have the funds to pay for a vet.I dont know what to do we are so scared for her.Has anyone ever had this happen to there precious kitten? Any answers out there please.. Oh i might mention that she eats a normal kitten diet(sad).

How old is she? If she was taken away from her mother prematurely and isn't going to the bathroom...she may need help. A mother cat and mother dog as well (perhaps other animals) have to stimulate their babies to make them pee when they're really young.
I learned this when I was taking care of 10 doberman puppies who's mother died when she was hit by a car.
If this is the case then take a warm, wet washcloth and wipe her down below. She should pee gallons if she's been holding it in. If that doesn't work, you have a problem and I have no clue.
Also, try feeding her with an eye dropper. Warm goats milk is good or probably any kind of raw milk if you can get it.
I hope you figure things out quickly.

Sounds like leukemia (sp), it is common in cats. Often one can be a carrier and not get sick but infect others. Before you get another cat throw out everything the cat ate from and used as a litter box and clean your home with bleach.
Sorry that happened! It is heart breaking!
Edit:
Sorry, I thought you said she had died!
You RELLY need to get her to a vet!

I was told she was 8 weeks old,but then again i was also told she was potty trained and that was a lie,So im thinking that she could be younger then i was told cause she is so little.

Your cat needs to go to the vet immediately. Most vets have payment plans or credit options, often interest-free, so you can sign up for one of those. It is absolutely not fair to her to let her suffer. Animals ARE expensive.

I agree, animals are a big responsibility. Take her to a vet and see if you can work out payments, put it on a credit card, or see if they have their own financing. It's one of the bad parts of having animals. You'd take your kid to the doctor no matter what, you should look at the kitten the same way.
My first thought was that she was younger than you think and unable to go to the bathroom, as well. I was going to suggest taking a damp cotton ball and wiping her bottom. She should go. The vomiting might be part of the fact that she can't go (if that's the issue.) Luckily when I took in my foster babies (a week old, 6 of them), I had their mother as well, so she did all the work. I feel for you. It's tough! Good luck!!!!!! Keep us updated.

I did call and speak to the vet office,I hope and pray that she will be okay till early in the morning til i can get her to the vet,I would go tonight but i have no license and i have no ride.My dad agreed to take me in the morning. He is gonna come over when the office opens and hopefully we can be seen asap.Any prayers would be greatly appreciated..

If she's sick and not peeing she could be massively dehydrated. You might want to try to get her to take some water. Even with an eye dropper. Dehydration can be a serious problem.
I'm running to get some water now!!!

I don't mean to be cruel, but as an animal lover and communicator of animals, here are a couple of questions for you:
Why does someone have an animal if they can't afford to take it to the vet WHEN needed?
Is that fair to the animal?
Something to be aware of!

From one pet lover to another, As a child our family could never afford pets but they ALWAYS wound up on our door step. We never turned away because we had no money!

hope all is well with your kitten.
when i lived in ecuador we took in many strays...kittens way too young to leave their mothers...i often fed them with an eyedropper and wrapped them in small towels to keep them warm.
i am wondering if maybe she is not able to digest her food? is she losing weight? does she feel cold?
i'm glad you are going to the vet though. otherwise, she will probably die.

If she's that young she shouldn't be without her mother. An ideal age is 12 to 13 weeks plus.
Fingers crossed and hugs to you both. Make sure she stays hydrated and keep us posted as to how she gets on.

Sending positive vibes to the kitten. Please be aware that it is a HUGE responsibility to care for a companion animal. Be sure that you can afford to care for it properly and provide a safe, clean, and healthy home. That includes being able to care for its health needs.
Good luck and please keep us updated. :)

Maybe you can borrow an adult female cat or dog as a surrogate?
