Default Do any of you eat on a normal schedule?

I used to until I started this. Now I just eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm satisfied. So I usually eat maybe around 11 am and then again around 5 pm but that's it. I'm beginning to believe now that we don't need 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day to survive!!!!!!!

    Hi livenraw,

You body is going through adjustments. Some days it will need just a little food, and other days a lot more. In the mornings I will usually have a smoothie. Sometimes this lasts until noon. (It's 2:55 right now and I still haven't eaten my lunch.) You will also adjust your portion sizes as you go along so this can help if you have family/friends to schedule around.

    Good luck!

I agree with Elian. There are days when I eat what seems like a lot and then there are days that I am not very hungry and eat a lot less. I too have found that I tend to eat when I am hungry and stop when I am satisfied. I have so much more control with this way of eating than with cooked foods. I think it is because raw food is not over addicting. It is cool isn't it?

The main thing that I realized is you just need to listen to your body. Our bodies will tell us when to eat and what to feed it. And Yes our bodies probably do need a lot less to survive than we are used to feeding it. One thing I do know is it takes more calories to feed muscle than fat, so a person that is very muscular will need to consume more to maintain it than a person who is more lean or even fat. Also if you work out a lot your body will probably require more. So don't be surprised if you get more hungry based on your physical activity.

I also just eat when I am hungry, not necessarily 3 meals. In fact, I have a smoothie in the morning and sometimes don't eat again till 5 or 6. Other days, I pick, usually at night. I try to keep it to veggies("just veggies" is really tasty and gives me that snack satisfaction) or a frozen banana. I am full much more quickly with raw.

I eat fairly normal schedule from day to day. I am a grazer and rarely eat a meal. I eat 5-6 times a day. Almost always a mono type meal. Today it was 1/2 Banana..run and work out then an Apple...then some Flax Crackers.......an apple...a few more crackers...green drink and then an apple in my car.... broccoli for dinner ...glass red wine right now...and off to bed. So I ate 8 times today. This is normal for me.

I eat fairly continuously from the time I arrive at work until a few hours later. If I have to work in the evening, I usually go home, eat some fruit or make a smoothie of it, and go back to work.

    Hey All,
I'm a yoga teacher and I get up at the crack of dawn, not hungry and so I usually have tea or lemon and water, the after class at 8:30am, I;ll have an apple or some nuts. Lunch is around 12n consisting of a salad and flax crackers with cheese. Dinner(if I'm hungry) is some veggies, soup or some dehydrated delight(cold out now). I try not to snack and just eat when I'm hungry. I do prepare a lot so of course, I must taste:)

i tend to raw snack in the day. i also make food for my hubby he eats raw as thats what i make him, (he is happy with raw, it was his request he ate the same as me) so i tend to stick to mealtimes, although they are not always concrete, sometimes we eat later or earlier, but i try to keep mealtimes as i don't want him feeling hungry and feeling he is missing out.

good lord.... I just realized that I eat continuously all day long. I get up at 4:30am and go to bed at 11pm. It seems my life revolves around food. I always have something close at hand to put in my mouth. I always take a thermos of green smoothie when I leave the house. I am not anywhere near "raw" yet... I still eat cooked rice and beans and other occasional transgressions into the realm of heated cuisine.

I guess I just realized how frantic I would be if I did not have food "available" to me in any form... raw or cooked... during the day. Lots of food within easy reach is what works for me.

I have lost nearly 80lbs. I so desperately want to lose another 20 to be at my goal weight.
