    Default Easy, tasty sprouts

    What are the easiest sprouts to makes?
    Which sprouts taste the best?

    I have a few bag of beans, red beans, chick peas, black eyes peas, balck beans. I might have a few other. Will any of these make good sprouts? Is these anything else I can do with them?

    I personally like green, grassy sorts of sprouts best--fenugreek, radish, onion, clover, alfalfa, daikon (spicy and yummy!)

    For myself, I don't enjoy sprouted legumes much...with the exception of lentils and mung beans. They are very starchy tasting and I don't digest them well.

    I love pea and alfalfa sprouts. Very mild and tasty!

    I like pea, lentil and radish. Be sure to buy seeds meant for sprouting. Otherwise they might not work.

    I like the different "sprout mixes" (like the Spicy) from www.sproutpeople.com.

    I also sprout beans: aduzki, garbanzo, peas, lentils, mung but I don't like them straight up -- I make a pate/hummus out of them. (Right now I'm eating a hummus made with sprouted garbanzo beans...ummmm....yummmy)

    I do NOT like sprouted wheat but apparently some people like them as a "cereal" mixed with fruit.

    Sproutpeople offers a "sample kit" with a wide variety of sproutables so if you aren't sure what you like, this is a good way to taste test small quantities and then you can order the ones you like in larger quantities.

    Hmm... onion is a good sprout, dunno about ease though. The easiest to sprout that I enjoy is quiona. Some folks say to soak it 4 to 6 hours then sprout for a day or two. I just soak it overnight and I have tails the next morning. It makes a great base for tabolli or a salad with marinated veggies. Hmm.. good!
