    Default Money saving tips

Does anyone have any money saving tips?

    Here are mine:
    I buy nuts in bulk.
I check the "us is" section in the supermarket, today I got lots
of perfectly good bananas for 50 cents.
I try to plan my meals so that I eat the most perishable items early in the week and save the others for later.

Those are great ideas! Also, shop in Asian and other ethnic stores and at produce stores, they are usually much less expensive than grocery stores. Make friends with the produce managers and ask them to set aside their "over ripe" (usually perfectly ripe) or "damaged" produce for you to buy at a discount. I get a lot of great stuff very cheap this way.

    All the best,

Shop around. When I can I get to the farmers market which is much cheaper for me. I buy produce when on sale.

    Yup. Great suggestions!

    1) Shop at many different places and get sale items.
    2) Buy dented produce.
    3) Get a part-time job at a produce stand. They usually need help.
    4) Sprout bulk items (if you eat these items)
    5) Stick to staple fruits and veggies that are inexpensive and avoid organic..if you can't afford it (which I don't / can't). Use staple stuff in season like: apples, bananas, oranges, watermelon, canteloupe, cabbage, etc.

    -Just some suggestions.

I shop around and really enjoy ethnic markets

Deep freeze some of my own fresh fruits

BuyAvacados and bananas in Bulk from Sam's Club

Make my own nut butters in the food processor

It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

Find stores like Save-A-Lot and Aldis. I am amazed at the amount of produce I can buy in those stores verses the local grocery store!

    I also shop around.

There are about 5 stores I frequent with different prices on everything. It is too bad that one store doesn't sell everything at the same price but for whatever reason it just doesn't work that way.

For instance one of the stores I frequent has great prices but no organic greens out of a bag. All their organic greens are either baggfed or boxed and don't taste as good as the fresher kind.

The other with all organic is higher priced on the non greens.

Another has lower priced frozen fruits (Whole Foods), and have tons of great produce but it's pricier.

While another offers less expensive organic carrots.

Another is the lowest price, but the produce selection isn't always consistant.

    Talking farmer markets!

we prefer going to farmer markets, we know different three farmer markets.
best one is near mall in okemo city because it have some herbs that are sooo fresh!! i love it

they are cheaper than health stores

but they didnt hold open all year

we sometimes find someone sell fresh fruits through country somewhere and they are cheaper than farmer market, but it is hard to find. you need to know where they are...
