Default How do you clean vegetables and fruits?

    Hello all,

How can I make sure that I get rid of bacteria and parasites that may be on fruits and vegetables.... I was just diagnosed with a parasitic infestation and I need to make sure this doesn't happen to me again!!

    thanks for your help!

You can try using 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide. It should be diluted, there are instructions on the package. I don't use it myself, but I think I will start.

Salt kills most visible bugs. Vets used to use alchohol in spray bottles when I brought in injured lost dogs for life saving surgery for other big bugs. Dunno about those little ones though. I have tried salt, vinegar, dish soap and water, and now I have purchased the grapefruit seed extract. I refuse to buy that veggie wash all the stores sell because the ingredients just look like a bunch more chemicals to me. I have wondered about the parasites - especially when I read threads on here about people eating kiwi with the peel on. Do you have any idea what type of produce the parasite you have thrives on?

    Default Shaklee

I use Shaklee's Basic-H cleaner. Works great, good for the environment, non-toxic.

some people use white vinegar mixed in with the water they dunk their produce in , also lemon juice . then rinse in slightly warm water to kinda help cut into any filmy or waxy type substance applied to much produce like on cukes and peppers , then lastly cold rinse to crispy it up . my logic anyway .

and on parasitic infection many people say its a good policy to once a year or more do a herbal cleanse to insure against them .
theres herbal mixtures or singular herbs such as black walnut hulls and wormwood that people use as parasite cleanses .

like right now cuz ive a long term g.i. tract ailment that makes me have to consider ive a parasite issue , though test show nothing , ive gone on a herbal tincture of black walnut + wormwood that i drink in a warm water milk thistle tea (i just use milk thistle cuz like taste and its also a liver support plant ) a couple times a day . im doin this for a few weeks . ya buy the tincture in like 2 oz bottles for like 10 bucks then use about 8 drops per tea so it goes a long way .
