Default Haven't gone to dentist in 3 years-no cavities thanks to raw!

    Hello all,

I just went to the dentist for a check up and I had no cavities! :) I couldn't believe it. I haven't gone to the dentist in 3 years. Prior to 3 years ago, I always got cavities even though I had regular cleaning 2X/year. Since raw, I've been eating tons of sweet fruits(80% of my diet), and I just can't believe that I had no cavities. Also, I've been brushing w/baking soda for the last half a year. I contribute this good news to raw food. Yeahhhhh! Thanks to Alissa for constructing this forum. Thanks to the Moderators for maintaining it. Thanks to all members that contribute great info and make this place so enjoyable. Thank you All!

    Thanks Gosia, for the congratulations.

I'm still in disbelief. I've been eating more than 10 dates almost everyday in the last 1 month. (trying to quit this habbit). I eat lots of durians, grapes, persimmons, figs, gogi. Anything very sweet. I really thought I would have cavities since I haven't had my teeth cleaned for 3 years. Also, I never floss my teeth.

The only precaution I've been taking in the last year is rinsing teeth after eating (sweet or non-sweet).

That can play a huge role in preventing tooth decay. Since the bacteria that causes cavities are anerobic,(can only live where there is no air), rinsing right after eating will prevent the proper environment for the bacteria to work.

I would still recommend flossing every now and then. Flossing isn't just for preventing cavities, it's for preventing periodontal disease too.

    Keep up the rawsome work!
