    Default Question for the vets!

Hey everyone!!! I'm soo happy to have found this rawkin' place! I've been 100% raw for almost eight weeks and feel amazing. All the benefits are incredible and probably too long to list--- but the most fun and wacky personal development is that I no longer wear deodorant!!! I swear on raw chocolate. Even after a workout! (And trust me, I'm not deluded, I've asked my fiance for frequent sniff tests....) It's been about three weeks off the stuff. Pretty darn cool, I tell ya!

I have only one negative to report and I was hoping someone could offer some much-needed insight on this. For the last week or two, I get a pretty severe burning/pain in my lower esophagus/upper stomach area very shortly after I eat. This is pretty markedly uncomfortable, and has me a little worried as I want to stay raw. Really want to stay raw! Thanks heaps!

    Welcome to RFT Luvitup,

Yes, isn't it amazing about the lack of stinkiness when eating raw. I think it was Gosia that once posted that she and her hubby could tell if either had eaten cooked because of the smell eminating from the offender's skin.

The burning sensation is not because the food is raw. It could be because of the combination. What were you eating before it happened? Chocolate is very acid whether raw or cooked. Hubby had the same sensation along with coughing many years ago, it was from eating cooked chocolate. It had caused a hernia in his esophagus and he had surgery. Then the dr told him not to eat chocolate or spicy foods ever again. We say he could have done that without the surgery.

    Hope you figure it out,
    Teri S

Thanks for the welcome & the response, Teri! I've been perusing the site pretty much off and on all day, and I think I will take a closer look at what I'm eating. I'm sure I get a little over-zealous in my mixing of the fruits & veggies. I'm just so bent on making sure I get every nutrient I need that I tend to end up with a Mad-Hatter-type meal. Probably too much for the old plumbing, huh? I'll take it a bit slower.....
So the hubby is well now?

    :) Luvitup
