Thread: Miso and raw?

  1. #1

    Default Miso and raw?

I have read in several books on raw food that miso soup is okay to have because of the enzymes naturally present. Does anyone have contrary information? It gets cold here in the winter, and miso soup is a great warm-up.

It depends on what you are comforable with. Some raw foods folks eat more along the lines of 'living foods' and since unpasturezed miso is fermented it is considered to be 'living'. Same with sauerkraut and kimchee. You just have to figure out how you want to do this. If you like miso soup and it doesn't make you feel bad then enjoy!
