    Question Vitamix blender

Hi. I'm new to the site and to raw foods. I've been researching blenders and have heard a lot of good things regarding the Vitamix. I was a bit shocked to see how much they cost though. Is the Vitamix worth it? Are there other blenders that compare to the Vitamix that aren't so expensive? Thoughts?

My vitamix was one of my best raw food investments I made. I use it multiple times everyday and it has a great warranty. If you don't want to spend the money for a new vitamix, you can buy used ones for much cheaper. One place you can check for used ones is on ebay.

Or you could get a different brand that is less expensive, but once you use a vitamix at a friend's house - you will be sorry that you didn't just get one in the first place.

My one piece of advice I give to my friends who are new to raw is to bite the bullet and get a vitamix. Everyone of them has thanked me for this advice within a week after they get one.

Also, if you start making nut cheeses and other raw gourmet foods, get the Vitamix 5000 at the minimum, because it has a speed control dial on it. (The 4500 does not.)

There is nothing in my estimation that compares with the V-M. You can get lesser yet, after you find they don't do the job and have to buy another you THINK might be as good, you'll wish you'd gotten the V-M.

Personally, I always get top quality. I don't like wasting my time figuring out how to dehydrate my food around a hole in the center of the dehydrator or having to make smaller portions in a smaller container and having to spend more time blending to get the texture I want.

You can go to eBay if you want but I'd check the warranty. A lot of times warranties are non-transferable.
