    Smile Raw Food for Beauty

I just read Tonya Zavasta's "Book Beautiful on Raw" and "Uncooked Creations". I was wondering if any of you truly believe that it's possible to become more beautiful on the raw diet?

I have read the science behind it. I have been raw for 1 week and it does help tremendously with my skin.

all you have to do is look at some before and after photos to know.... there's a thread or two on here about it, but when I was first researching raw food, I googled "raw food before after" or similar and that's actually what made me realize it was the way to go... there's no denying all those photos.

    Question

Hi DianeDiane can you tell me a little more about her book. I went to the site. Can you tell me the the index of the book? Does she give recipe for hair or skin. For example what does she say for growing long hair, what type of raw food does she recommend? Any help on the book would be great. Thanks again.

it will be fun to see your changes...I wish I had taken a picture on day one....how did I know so many changes would occur in my skin and eyes?? I never had BAD skin, thought it was pretty good actually...but now I have GREAT skin (except during detox...but, this will pass)...and the under eye bags or dark circles that I accepted as a "human trait" are gone.....TAKE A PICTURE!!! then, in a month, take another...and a month later take another......go for 12 pictures...your life will never be the same! good luck! watch alissa's video......it is sooo possible. You can do it, and there are a lot of great recipes and ideas here. use it, you will make it and you won't be alone! good luck! (If I had done the picture a month, I would have 6 so far....just started my new "tradition" 2 months ago...so I only have 2...but, I will never be able to use the excuse that RAW didn't make me look that different...proof is in the pictures...) GO FOR IT! here is my 6 month picture...my eyes look so much clearer than they ever were before!!!

David Wolfe's book "Eating For Beauty" has lots of excellent recommendations.

I am definitely more beautiful now that I am raw :)

DianeDiane welcome to Alissa's forum. The following is for you and gyllisa.

Here is a link to a current pic of rawnora who posts here. http://www.rawschool.com/story.htm and if you click the photo gallery link on that page you will see her before and during pics. She was average for her age before raw in my humble opinion. Now she looks half her age, and very healthy for that.

Default I hope I don't get slammed for this...

    But,

While I agree that Nora looks amazing, I do also think that she looks a mite bit too skinny. I am alone in this???

Nothing against being slim, really. I promise. But, I just wouldn't want to be that skinny, it would make me uncomforatable. I was super skinny growing up, and my socks fell down: )......

    But, her face looks gorgeous!!!

I think that's probably a personal thing, as long as each person is in good health. She eats well, she knows her body, she knows about her own wellness...and so that should probably be a personal decision for each person to make. As well, you should be as thin as you want to be. Meanwhile, I have a feeling you're going to get a lot of responses to your comment lol

Oooohhh. I hope that I don't incur too much wrath, since my comment is in no way vicous. I guess seeing someone be that slim stirs up my own anxieties about becoming too skinny on raw foods. It causes me to begin to feel extremely vulnerable and out of control.

So, my question again is in no way vicious. I have a great deal of respect for Nora and her accomplishments. Really.

Yeah I know what you mean. I worry about getting thinner than I'd like to be also, as I was like you growing up (and even into adulthood...and I"m borderline now) - too thin for what I'm comfortable with. Uncomfortable to the point of feeling pain when sitting down due to not having enough fat/cushion on my butt. Hopefully, a lot of the fatty foods will help (nuts, avos, etc) with that.

I know you weren't being vicious, by the way. Hopefully there won't be any wrath lol
