    Angry Completely Frustrated with myself

    [FONT=Trebuchet MS]
#1 - Alissa you were the one who inspired eating raw for me. You captured my attention. Your book, the juicer and the curly cue thing is the best.
#2 - I did so well for 1 month and then came the kids from their fathers after a month, my boyfriends awful eating habits and my addiction to food.
Food (processed, or any kind) has been an entertainment in my family. When we celebrate we go out to eat. When we are ready for the weekend we go out to eat.
Im tired of this, I don't like feeling out of control and I don't like starting something and not being capable of sticking to it.
I know I could be healthier and I know that I would have that energy I had when I started, but I don't try 100% like I did before.
Sorry, Im in a mood. Im down on myself for knowing its good for me but not doing it.

To quote an old saying........"I feel your pain."

My family is not raw. They are carniverous and junk food junkies. I must say they have improved. Entertainment? Oh, yea! When we go out, I choose the place. A place where I know I can get what I need to live. I wish I could change them and all around me. I can't. I can only have control of me. It isn't always easy.......it's sometimes downright unbearable (like when I'm really depressed.) I do the best I can. Some wise people (from this board) said to focus on the good changes I've made, continue improving by taking one day at a time and remember it is a process. It isn't a dietary change, it is a lifestyle. I've struggled with the feeding kids business. I offer more positive choices. They might surprise you. When a celebration arrives, suggest bowling or roller skating or a picnic in the park. Take the focus off food. If you want more ideas on the feeding kids business, let me know.

Take it easy on yourself! If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!!!!

needs updated and the blogging isn't active on this part. I've met that goal and started new goals! It's a lot of history though....

    Wink Thanks!!!

I appreciate your feedback. Im always looking for some answer. There are so many answers and so many ways.
I lost 10lbs in my 1st couple of weeks, I had so much energy I felt so good about myself and then I started craving pasta's and bread. I would have a little here and there but then I blew it completely after awhile and had cheese enchiladas. I love the flavors of food, its awful.
Im working on finding quick ways to eat things that have lots of flavor. I am a single mother and I work until 530-630pm at night, then I have soccer practice or gymnastics I need to trek them to. I find myself turning to easy non raw foods because I need immediate satisfaction on taste.
www.thegardendiet.com is one website I like and I find reading the tips helps me. I have bought two 10lb bags of oranges and try to make OJ when I can.
The kids are good about eating raw some times but they would rather just have pasta. My oldest is pretty much a veggie but she doesn't like to much of the stuff I make. The little one, she's a rib eating monster.
I'll figure it out soon. Thank you

As Kristi said "if momma ain't happy, then nobody is happy" We RAWK and that is the truth. I also pick the places we go and work from there. I am not always 100%, but it gets to be fun to figure out where to go, and now because they have seen results - it is Mom are you sure, will you have enough.

Konacoral - my guys [hubby, and son] are vegetarians, thus they do diary and sugar and anything not moving and all the things that I used to eat. When I started the process in June, I was tight - and doing well.

Hubby: I don't know if I can eat all raw, I like some of my food hot - this coming from the man that eats cold cheese pizza and veggiechili

Son: age 16, I don't want to be a vegan and I don't know about this

Momma: who is me - I just hummed and respected them, and prepared dual dishes - guess what they began to taste and enjoy my food, and when I went back to the fridge, mine was gone.

They still eat as they choose, but like Kristi says, healthier choices. I also introduced deserts all the time, which they consumed - we had the torte for breakfast because I felt it was too heavy for night, fruit pie as well for breakfast and young coconut- choc shakes for snacks, wonderful frozen fruit cream made while watching t.v. just things like that and they consumed it.

For several years now I have done a raw kale dish, corn dish, and adding the raw zucs [I add lemon juice, olive oil and celtic salt, kinda sour, and wonderful], and they eat it up. Also because some of the food is finger food, raw ravioli's, sushi, stuffed cukes with almost tuna, they like that.

I find with small children, if they help you mom, they will eat it. Since our budget is tight at this time, we hang out together, doing yoga, doing some crafts - I have a body products business - more hobby , and because we have a book fetish, we all hang out at the book store to celebrate and come back home, with some of my raw desserts.

Sorry to make it so long, I understand your pain, I am feeling you girl, and I know how difficult it can be.

Be blessed in your comings and goings

Sweet lips, why thank you for the adventure!! I really appreciate it. I know the kids will appreciate it. They do like making OJ. My 10 year old daughter enjoys cooking or shall we say uncooking? She has fun but still questions the tastes. I did find she loved the rawvioli but couldn't stand it without sour cream, okay a bit odd but she ate them. I tried a pie, it came out a little strange on the crust, it was too doughy. They do like the zucchini pasta, they think its "cool".
I try to be as simple as I can, but there are days I could eat a big bowl of pasta with butter because I just want it. Just like Kristi and her PB&B, oh got to love it.
My mom eat PB and tomato.
The kids have fun watching mom make a mess and end up eating just an apple because I didn't like what I made.
I need a raw cooking class.

Great post Sweetlips, that should be encouraging for a lot of people here struggling with integrating this into different family members' eating preferences.
