    Default Quinoa!

I am finally going to get to try Quinoa! yay. I have it soaking right now.
Does anyone know the nutritional profile of it raw and sprouted? I am so excited to try the Mother crop of the Incas. Inca Gold! woo lol. I read that Inca warriors used to march many many days on a quinoa and fat mixture called war-balls.

    yum I am excited hehehee

I used to eat cooked quinoa a lot! How do you sprout it? Can you just do the little seed/grain things or do you have to get special seeds for it? Let us know how it turns out!! I hope everything else is going alright. Please contact me if you have a chance ok?

I saw you the other day looking around for high energy seeds and nuts.
And I thought again ”that girl will succeed”, which I already know... :)

Well done, but I have an intuive feeling that your body will assimilate more of the nutrition,
if you combine them with green smoothies. Just an idea.

I use sprouted quinoa every day in a green smoothie. Prefer to soak quinoa in the evening for 2-4 hours
and sprout them the whole night and use to for lunch. Nice and very fast sprouter.

Other of my favorites this harvest period are sprouted buckweat and sesame.

    Nutrion values?
I will tell you a secret knowledge about nutrition values :) :
The real value of nutrition values is to learn the number charts
and then use your knowledge gently in dialogues and discussions.
    Everybody will respect you.

I asked a professor in botanic how many natural substances there are in a living plant cell.
He couldn't answer. Later I have read that there are at least 5000 identified substances.
In reality they are many, many more, probably several ten thousands.

Only your body has the real knowledge about all these substances you get from raw food.
Your body has the chemical knowledge to identify all of them – known or yet unknown – and use them in an optimal way.
So, listen to your body, study your reaction to different food.

Finally, just love your food, and have fun... :)
and you get a better assimilation of the nutrition.

    No, I blend them.

I only juice wheat grass, rye grass, wild grass (summertime),
and root fruit occasionally when I have excesses or feel I need more of the juice.

Good idea. Must be the most healthy food possible: greens blended with sprouts..

    hey y'all--'

Just one more idea for the quinoa--I soak it, sprout it, then feed it through my solostar juicer with the blank plate, with an apple and a banana, then add some honey, chopped almonds, cinnamon, raisins and it works for breakfast :) Ive also put it through the juicer like this, mixed it with nuts and raisins and sweetener, and dehydrated it into something resembling scones. I dont like other grains raw, even put through the juicer, but the quinoa is great--

    How do you sprout it?
dreamrawalwz, it's very easy. The important part is that you REALLY rinse it... it has a bitter coating on the seed and that must come off. I use slightly warm water, you can soak and rinse, soak and rinse at first. Then when you're sure you've got all the coating off, just leave them to drain and they sprout within a day. Super fast and easy. My preference is to do it in a mason jar (canning jar), with some plastic screening under the ring lid.

    Makes a good taboulleh.
