I ate well yesterday. I consumed about 1300 calories and was at 16% fat and 8% protein. Fat is still high but I am working on that. I ate lots of fruit and 2 green smoothies. I am trying to get more greens in. I made a broccoli salad with tahini dressing. That's what caused the higher fat.

My weight today is 151-down 2 lbs. I am down a total of 9 lbs since starting the 30 day challenge. 11 more lbs till my goal!

This is really helping me to stay on track. Thanks to everyone who is doing it too.

And a hardy Good Morning to you too FF! Can you tell we've have a bit of Fall roll in this morning! I know my household is bright and chipper today! Especially after that yucky day yesterday.

Side note: my husband was flying in from Dallas last night and his plane was re-routed to San Antonio for refueling due to the weather. It was 1:00 a.m. before he arrived home - he was suppose to be in around 7:00 p.m. I think we've had enough rain for bit - we need to share with others - so no more rain-dancing for those living in the Houston area! Enough!

Back to me (it's all about me, right?).

I'm down to 156.5 this morning! Again, it's probably just water, but I'll take the crumbs...

I took a little time this morning to do some tummy crunches and leg lifts. I'm sure it's been well over a month since the last time I did these. I need to stay focused on excercise, especially since I find myself sitting in the car or in front of the computer so much lately.

I'm watching what you guys are doing to excercise, so please share your routines...

    Have a wonderful Friday everyone!
    Anna

Hello everyone! I am a little late to the game but I am on board for the last 10-15. I am 5"3' and I weigh 133. I have never been this weight (maybe when I was 8!!!) I thought that 130 would be my goal but my legs and bum are still holding on to some saddles. I have found that, although I have been eating mostly and sometimes all raw foods for 7 or so months, I must be careful of nuts (and let me tell you, my soaked/seasoned/dehydrated nuts are so yum!!! I look at them now and think, "leave 'em for the kids and my husband!!") and salt. God, help me with salt!!! I love the idea of mixing celery into the guac. I also made Aliisa's spinach/avacado dip and loved it. I drink smoothies 1x per day. Princess Elaine, if you read this, try finding one of those travel smoothie makers because I find the green smoothies are yummiest immediately after making them and I think their are more nutritionally beneficial as well. Good luck, ladies.

I'm wondering why people feel they need to lose weight on raw? I'm still trying to convince myself that if I eat all raw and don't workout like a psycho, I'll still maintain my weight. I always have followed 8-1-1, so I know that I'm not overeating overt fats. But if we're all raw, shouldn't our weight just stabilize? Please help! Thanks!

Maraw, I agree! The weather is gorgeous today.....AND I also wish those rain dances would stop!!!! I am sure you were worried about your husband and that he was exhausted when he got home. My husband travels alot too and it takes him days to recover from little episodes like that. My daughter has a horse show this weekend and I was getting concerned that we were going to have to wear "swamp- waders" yuck! Go enjoy the day- and GREAT job with your exercising..........you RAWK ;-)

I know that eating raw will help to improve health and take one's body to a more appropriate weight. However, latley I've been doing more sitting than usual and so I find myself in a heavier-than-preferred situation. If I eat a lot of avocados, dehydrated and nutty foods, it's not hard for me to pack on a few extra pounds - even 100% raw. Having said that, if I go with a more balanced eating regime and focus less on fats, and I get some excercise in my schedule, my weight drops pretty easily.

Your comment though, I think, is based on the idea that everyone eats like you: 8/1/1, which many do not - myself included.

I appreciate your comment though and see it as an encouragement to create a better balance in what I eat on a regular basis - thanks!

It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

I just started 8/1/1 this week and it's tough. If I set myself a short-term goal, like losing weight, it will help me commit to sticking with this for long enough to determine if this is the right way to eat for me. The weight loss is a mental way of deflecting my focus to meet my goal of trying 8/1/1 for two months without cheating. I know that if I do 8/1/1 faithfully, I'll lose any weight I have to lose. But I need to play mind games with myself to stay motivated.

    So far, it's working. ;)

I love the cheerleading section. Thanks!

Today has been a good day so far. I am at 1100 calories so far. I went to the health club this morning and did an hour spin class. My knees are killing me. I haven't done that class in a year. I like to work out at home. It takes so much less time and I hate to go outside when the weather is cold. I felt I was getting a little bored with the workout tapes I have so I went to the health club for variety.

The weekend is always a challenge for me. We are always on the run at a soccer game or something else. I plan to pack a lot of fruit to bring with me and not worry too much about the greens.

Dehydrate a blender full of green smoothies......make sure you have a few banana's in the mix and it makes a great fruit leather!!!! I even made pumpkin leather last week for a grab and go option. Or if you are somewhere cold....make up a big batch of the chili from the recipe section.....it is great even cold-yummy!

Oh, that's a great idea! I never thought of that. How long does that chili keep for? I was planning on making it for Halloween. We usually make chili for Halloween and I want to make a raw version.
