I am in!
Hi guys! This sounds like a great idea! I have been raw for 15 weeks, and not lost one pound! I am eating a lot simpler now, and not a high fat raw diet... still haven't seen changes, but I am hoping (thanks from the support of you guys!!!) that things are working on the inside. I am currently having digestive problems and am not eating as much. This morning, nothing. Drinking water with lemon and agave.
My starting weight is 147 at 5'6 3/4
I exercise 3 times a weeks and am starting back on weights. (use to exercise A LOT, and it just made me hold onto the weight)
Good Luck to all!

I really need to eat more greens and simple fruit. Cut back on salt and fats - that's my focus. I know we can do this!
Stay out of the recipe section ;) . When I browse that section all the yummy desserts sound too good to pass up. I will never lose that way.
I am at 153 lbs. I am 5'9". My goal weight is 140 lbs. I hope to see other improvements when I cut down on the fat. For some reason I have been constipated . I cannot understand how that can be. Hopefully the low fat will make a difference.

I wanna lose 20 pounds. I'm going to try monodieting for a while. Tomorrow apples, the next day oranges, then the next who knows. Once I am back to all raw for a while my eating will decrease, for now I am wating a lot. I am hoping monoeating will decrease that.

Count me in! This is my 3rd week being 100% raw and I have not lost any weight. I currently weigh around 150, and I am 5'6. Since I went raw I have been obsessed with making recipes in my new dehydrator, which has not really helped with the weight loss I guess. I have been trying to eat more fruits and veggies for the past few days, so hopefully this will help. My goal is to weigh between 130 and 135. I have never been able to stay below 143 lbs successfully, but maybe having the accountability on this site will help me this time around. Let's stay motivated and do this together!

I've lost about 100 pounds since going raw 3 years ago. 50 FLEW off in the first couple months. Then, with about 40 more pounds to go, I got pregnant (gained about 15 pounds during that time which came off immediately baby was almost 8 pounds), and here I am, still with 40 pounds to lose. There are several factors going against me which I hope to mitigate or otherwise correct:
*I'm breast feeding, and while it burns about 500 calories a day, it's hard for me to keep up with my calorie intake, so by body is holding on to whatever I take in. I need to get enough calories every day!
*I've been eating too much fat! I swear I could eat a dozen avos a day...
*I need to make tme to exercise. For the longest time, I'd catch up on sleep an nap when baby naps. I need to yoga while he naps and go to bed at a decent hour. This will be especially difficult the next two weeks since hubby's job will have him working insane hours.
*I haven't been drinking enough water. During the summer this isn't a big deal since I eat loads of watery fruits, but many days my lips feel dry.
So what to do?
*Daily kundalini yoga
*100 oz water/day (till my lips are back to normal)
*log food on nutridiary.com (I ADORE this site). I'm still working on the Master Cleanse so the logging will start when I'm done with it.
I'll try to post here daily.
Good luck to us all!

I'll look into that website - you make it sound interesting.
You guys all have wonderful ideas and suggestions. For the next week I am going to have to spend more time on the computer and therefore will not be able to move as much as I like. I would love to know more about the FIT walk - please share?
I think it also wise to go ahead and face the fat! I am 5'9" and this morning I weighed 160 lbs. When I left Alissa's training this past May, I was right at 149-150. I haven't been that weight in almost 20 years. It was wonderful! My goal weight is 145. I have an already thin face and upper body - it's what's behind me that carries load - so to speak. I have a medium frame and am on the taller side, so 145 is it! Do I dare reach for that goal?
Just posted my lunch in the post above. I am also going to try and eat "snacks" throughout the day. I agree that that will help curb poor eating habits.
One trick I like to use when I'm feeling weak is to eat before I feed the rest of my family if they are not eating raw or what I want. It keeps me from feeling tempted.

Okay, I'm in!
I was 194.5 this morning, but am trying to get down to about 180 or so. I've got future half-marathon plans, and my spare tire isn't exactly improving my times. (I should also note that in all the miles I've previously run, I've never had to use my 'spare tire' since my running shoes have never had a flat.)
Here's what I've eaten/packed/prepared for later:
8 oz Rejuvelac
large baggie of raw asparagus
large baggie of baby carrots
bunch of flax crackers
1 orange
1 pear
1 apple
1 banana
1 massive romaine salad with cucumber, avocado, more asparagus, flax cracker "croutons" and some home-made dressing (haven't decided which one yet...)
Tonight I also plan to trim my toenails , so I know I'll weigh less tomorrow.

I am so IN with you maraw.
I am so glad you posted, so thanks! I'm getting a little "porky" as we go into the winter here, I started eating more indulgently, and I'm more than 15 up from where I want to be, but if I don't join you I'm sure I will gain 15 on top of this...
So realistically are we looking at this taking 15 weeks, or RAWlistically I'm hoping a couple months.
Today I was OK but could be better. I told myself I would start eating larger quantities of lower cal raw veggies, I got out to the garden and made a huge coleslaw from red cabbage and red and white carrots and sweet red pepper. (delish). But then I also made some cookies with sesame seeds, apples, nuts, dates, etc... (told myself I was making them for the hubby, but who ate most of them?) started the day with dried figs and tea for breakfast... I think I really need to focus on savories, cut the sweets, not fear fruit, still eat about 1/4 cup of nuts and/or 1/4 cup of seeds, and some avo here an there... but must bar myself from the denser caloric sweets like dates, figs, etc (or munching unmeasured nuts unaccountably from the bag)... I also understand you should keep your protein up when wanting to lose weight so I am also going to concentrate on that.
I think I will try to eat in the ballpark of 1200 cals, exercise about 300 cals worth. Not to count cals exactly, but that is my rough plan to make it happen.
I haven't been exercising as much as I should and that will have benefits for other reasons too.
maraw, for your computer time, do you happen to have a large inflatable fitness ball? If so, I highly recommend sitting on it while at the computer. It's so great for your back, neck, etc., but also you feel so many muscles being used. It keeps your body sort of in gentle motion, rather than stationary which also leads to problems.
maybe we can also post some ideas for lower calorie satisfying meals.

Good Luck to ALL of you!

I'm starting at 112 and my goal is 105. What is our goal date? Are we working through the holidays?

This sounds about like me, although I haven't been successful at keeping my calories at 1200 yet - those bananas pack them in quick!
We had company and I made them pasta and garlic bread - those smells were hard to resist! To compensate, I had a whole avocado and box of raisins in my salad (instead of half). So I didn't make my 8/1/1 today. But I think I did okay anyway - I didn't eat even one bite of cooked or even transitional food. I don't think I'll be losing any weight today, either.
I started back on the treadmill a week ago and I'm going to try to continue that daily.

And now a comedian too!
Do you think it's possible to literally laugh my butt off?
Here's hoping...

Great question. I hadn't really given it that much thought. I like the idea of going 15 weeks, but we wouldn't have to really work for that goal! I'm kind of liking the idea of 2 months. That may be realistic for some, and not for others. Anyone have any ideas? Do we even need a time period - or do we just GO FOR IT!
