    Default Sungoddes?

    Hi

I have read a lot of your post - just wondered how you were doing?
I know how hard it is to struggle with bad skin AFTER going raw, since everyone says it will cure acne:) My skin is getting better - but it is really coming in cycles - so...we are kind of in the same place- I too freak out from time to time, thinking if I'm doing it all wrong *lol*? And reading about that guy whose acne hadn't cleared after ONE YEAR raw kindof made me go "oh...****!" So maybe we can support each other

Well, just wondered how you are doing?

    Love alba

it is SO nice to have someone wonder how you are doing on this board! Thanks Alba!! (and it's your birthday today too isn't it??) I definitely think we are feeling the same way about the skin. Knowing that this HAS to be the right way... but questioning it often anyway.

I know! when I heard that a year of raw with amazing effort doesn't necessarily clear up the skin I freaked out!

My skin is still bad. I could say it is a tiny bit better, but I don't know whether I am jsut getting used to it... if you know what I mean. We should definitely be skin/raw buddies!!!!!!

Thank you so much for asking about how I am doing!!! And, if it is your birthday, and I haven't gone insane, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

for what its worth (im pretty much going through the same thing..) ive noticed that cutting out all nuts helps quite a bit.

what are your guys diets like right now? do you notice other things that make you break out?

everything makes me break out! :)

I am not disciplined enough to cut out all nuts yet! I want to.... I keep on telling myself I have onyl been raw for 3 months, and vegan for 4 (fast transition). I feel like I never gave myself time to get used to this, and 811 seems so drastic so soon! But when I have cut out all fat, it has only been for 2 or 3 days at a time... I didn't notice great improvements.

    We should start a club!

hey guys..posted this in another thread but thought id share with you and maybe you guys could look over your nutrient intake too and see if this is all related somehow?

"well...this morning i may have figured this whole thing out partially!

ive been using fitday.com to track my food intake on and off for about 2 years. i used to use it to track caloric intake, but stopped sometime during this last summer doing it consistently and have since only used it occassionaly to get a general idea of nutrient intake.

well..i was all fine and dandy when i was in rome a year ago, and it wasnt until i came home that my health started challenging me. dizziness, fatigue, headaches, and acne are the things ive since battled with.

this morning i went on fitday and went to the calendar and went all the way back to last year when i was in rome. i looked at which nutrients i was getting a LOT of: vitamin a, vitamin c, vitamin b-6, selenium and magnesium were the big ones. this continued pretty consistently all through the months of that semester.

i then went on and looked at the nutrient intake during the second semester while i was in switzerland. my vitamin a levels dropped, vitamin b-6 levels dropped, selenium levels were almost non-existent, and magnesium levels dropped! i thought hmmmm..

i then took a look at what i had recorded for this past summer, and low and behold..the ONLY nutrient intake still up there was vitamin c.

being low in selenium and magnesium can lead to headaches and acne, and low in vitamin b-6 can lead to fatigue and dizziness.

while in rome i ate a LOT of egg whites, a lot of red peppers, garlic, and a ton of fruit - i was basically fruitarian. (i wasnt vegan yet..just high raw lol). egg whites are rich in selenium, red peppers in vitamin a, all my fruit in the b vitamins, garlics just great in general...etc.

so now i sit here and wonder if maybe im on to something... and if maybe all this trouble was a simple nutrient deficiency the entire time from not eating the right foods and being too stubborn to go get blood work done "
