1. Talking Hi! I am new to this forum!

Hi! My name is Soulsearcher I am new to this forum. I have been on NFL forum for two months and connecting with raw foodist there. I just found this forum and look foward to connecting with raw foodist here.

My family and I have just started our raw food journey two months ago. My husband and three kids, who I homeschool. We aren't 100% raw and range to being about 70 to 80 percent raw daily. We mainly eat about over a pound of greens a day (romain, redleaf, and green leaf), I make the kids a green smoothie dandlion leaf, banana, strawberry. My husband and I have coconut smoothie with a banana. The kids have natual penut butter from organic store with pumpkin butter on sproted bread. They also eat a banana and an apple. My husband and I have avo mashed up with cut up tomatos and cucumber with organic black chips. We also have been drinking 4 oz of kombacha tea almost daily.

That is our deit just about everyday. I am not sure if our organic store will have more choices in the summer but there really isn't much varity with the fruit. There is some frozen but I am unsure if it would be worth it to get frozen I like fresh.

Another reason variety is an issue is that we possible need to think of getting raw food appliances. I have a barely working blendar and want to get a high powered they are like 400 dollars. I want to get a dyhdrator cause I feel this could cut out the bread we buy and I could figure out how to make crackers for our avo and stuff. And something to substitute the bread for the kids. So I guess I am looking more towards getting the high powered bendar and the dehydrator. I would also like to get an ionizer for purifing our water and making it more alkaline and that will cost about 900 dollars. I guess the ionizer is last on my list at the moment cause we really have other needs that should be meet in this house. like getting everyone a decent bed. Anyone with a decent eco friendly organic bed suggestion?

I love talking about radical ideas that change up the way things are workin in society now. I think there is much to be improved upon and look foward to exploring these questions on this board with you lovely folks.

I am sooo THRILLED the whole Family is working together on becoming RAW. That is the BEST.....

First you must order Alissa's Book. She will help you through so much. Eating Whole Food is one of the best way to go RAW.

A dehydrator is a good thing. I made Crackers in the Sun all Summer and packed them away in Lock n' Lock plastic.

Vita-Mix is one of the best high speed machine and it will take the wear and tear from the Family. What about a Food Processor? You will really need one of those, they make Life a lot easier.

Again I am So Happy you are RAW and at this Forum. Ii look forward to hearing more of your Journey........

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW......Welcome to MY World........

Yes! I am considering getting her book after seeing all the excellent feed back on here. I also like that there is 300 recipies. Yahoo! But we have to see when getting it fits in. We have other needs that are more pressing for our family. For now we keep it simple eat lots of greens and the fruits we can get our hands on. I am trying to get us away from salad dressing so today I did an exsperiment. Half an organic orange, two slices of lemon, both of them squesed over the lettus, then cut up apple on top. Guess what it went over better with the three youngings better than anything I have done yet with salad dressing. I personally want to get way from oils and anything packaged. I think the very best thing is organic natural food period. I may do a little cocao and other stuff but really that stuff doesn't resonate with me big time. I want to have a simple way of doing things.

I guess one reason simple is attractive to me is sometimes I wonder if something happen on the earth and all or modern world was taken away. If we surivied I want to be perpared to live naturally. This is a funny thing comming out my mouth cause we are very technology friendly. My husband is a computer programer, web developer, data base, adminstrator, and jack of all trades computer.

I just look at all the curent events in the world and wonder what if. I would like to perpare my body to handle a sitution of that sort. I am very intrested in self substianing community. I love the idea of building one and settling on some high ground so to speak. Radical! But I am comfortable with radical thats why I homeschool and sparked my intreast in raw food. As far as I am concerned being this way has served me well.

So I hope to learn more about becoming self substaining, alternitive energy sources, how to keep life as simple as possible, being less dependant on society for food and other stuff, NOT BEING A CONSUMER OF THINGS I DON"T REALLY NEED, and well so many realting subjects. I hope that I am able to explore these concepts with the lovely people on this board.
