    Default Nuts...soaking...I need help!

Hi from Huntington Beach...I'm 7 weeks into 100% raw and I'm feeling great...I get so many compliments on my skin...though I've only lost 9 pounds (the first 3 weeks) and want to lose more...this way of eating has changed my life...

Question....I know some nuts have to be soaked...so please tell me..all nuts???? how long to soak...how to store afterwards...how long do they last after being soaked...

My beautiful friend Edie who is 35 years vegetarian is now going raw too, and wants me to help her.... it's perfect cuz it's helping me to learn more...I can't answer all her questions and I love this board and have learned so much....

I'm off to the gym for a boot camp session and will be back later...oh, one more question..how do you post your photo to show up when you post???? I love seeing ya'lls and thought I've tried to put mine in...it showed up in photo gallery....

Thank you and have a happy healthy day, Elaine

Congradulations on your rawness. I know there is a formula to which nuts need soaking but I don't remember. I usually soak all my nuts overnight though cashews I just blend. I have a vitamix and, from what I understand, pulverizing them in that makes them more digestable. I think there is something to how hard the shell of the nut is and how the nut has evolved to getting wet and getting it's enzymes going to begin sprouting. As I said before, I just soak them all!! Good luck.

Well, it depends on what you want to do with the nut. If you want to make almond milk you have to soak the almonds for 8 hours or so. If you want to make vanilla cream sauce,(this uses cashews), then you soak the cashews for 2 hours. Then there are recipes that say you don't soak the nuts.
