Thread: Terminal Cancer

  1. #16

Default big hug to you and your family

I went through this last year. My father's advanced prostate cancer spread to his vertebrae and pelvis. He also had COPD-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (lifetime smoker. still smoked. smoked up until the day he died.) My sister and I scoured the internet for help. In fact, this is one of the things that brought me to RawFoodTalk. I was looking for ammunition for him to fight the cancer. I started buying organic fruits/veggies and delivering them to him. I practically handfed them to him! Unfortunately, he did not want to fight like we wanted him to fight. He had come to terms with death he said. Every day after Viet Nam has been a gift, he said. Had he wanted to fight and believed he COULD fight, I think he would be alive today. I believe in the healing power of raw foods, positive thought, will to live, etc. Look into the Hippocrates Inst. like someone said. I think Brianna works there, if I am correct. Perhaps you could email her privately for info and encouragement. I have read truly inspiring and miraculous stories form there. They also believe in all raw food and wheatgrass as well. Those are some powerful people! As are the people on this board! I wish you all the luck and strength in the world. Your father-in-law is truly lucky to have you supporting him.

ps. My father did say that he felt a lot better- STRONGER- when eating raw fruits, veggies. If nothing else, it gives your body fuel to fight the cancer.

Warmest hugs and thoughts to you and your family,
    Jen

    Michelle,

A lot of factors need to be considered re: beating terminal cancer. Not all cancers are alike, nor are all 'terminal' diagnoses.

My husband has stage 4 lymphoma...which, for all medical knowledge, is not curable, therefore it is considered 'terminal'. However, his cancer is slower growing and not as aggressive as many, so he has some time to try alternative treatments before doing any traditional medicine....which he has soundly rejected since his diagnosis almost 2 years ago. His last CT scan 2 weeks ago showed the tumors were either stable or had, in some cases, shrunk. The doctor was remarkably pleased, and gave Paul additional time before chemo might be needed. YEAH....... but in his case, chemo is not a cure, just a temporary treatment which will make the tumors shrink, not go away.....which is definitely a reason to try alternatives first.

More aggressive cancers, or those discovered in end stages, often don't allow for alternative treatments to work before the patient dies...unfortunate, but there are no ways to predict how long a person will live after diagnosis and what alternative will work, so it's a guess, at best.

This is not meant to be a negative...on the contrary, try everything that is reasonable, both financially, and with whatever willingness he has to begin a positive move toward extending his life.

As Christians, we pray, and also continue to use a variety of alternative health products.

Give it your all, and believe.....for him.

    May I suggest:

All cancers (all disease really) is either a toxicity or a deficiency. If you remove the toxicity or eliminate the deficiency the body has a chance to heal itself.

A lot of our state of health depends on the strength of our immune system. Short of standing close to a nuclear emitting source, chemotherapy is the most efficient means known to destroy the human immune system.

There is most definitely a point of no return where the damage to the body is too great to recover from, however no one in the world can say when that point has been reached - as long as there is hope - I believe that point has not been reached.

The best alternative therapy is to provide the body with the nutrients it needs while at the same time eliminating as many toxicites as possible starting with the toxic environment found in most homes from cleaning products and personal care products.

    Please read the following book:

Cancer Proof Your Body by Ross Horne

    Hope this helps
