    Default RAW again!!!

    Hi my dear raw family,

Well, most of you have kept up with my progress, thanks for all the encouragement.

And you may know that a while back I ate some cooked food, not alot, just some and it was enough to cause me massive pain in my body, and a major healing crisis, YIKES!!!

Also, just so everyone knows, eating that little bit of cooked, opened the door to more cooked, just a bite, just a taste, just a ........ (fill in the blank)

It has been difficult, very difficult to go back to 100% raw, and why is that?

Because there was a door opened in the first place.

To get back to raw, I had to close that door and bolt it, I had to lock it, I had to prop large pieces of cast iron up against it. LOL

Now, this is just me, I know alot of people can keep that door open and walk in and out of it and be fine, I'm not one of them.

I MUST have that door closed, locked and bolted shut at ALL times.

    because of CRAVINGS!!!!
yes, you heard me cravings, for unbelievable stuff. mostly wheat-- my addictive substance of choice, LOL

but definitely cravings, I've talked myself into and out of about every cooked wheat dish there is, and those cravings are still there, and how long has it been?

Weeks, since that cooked food, YIKES!!!

so, please to protect yourself from cravings, and eating cooked, don't even entertain the thought-- That is Alissa's quote--, just don't even go there.

There is nothing cooked that tastes as good as eating raw feels.

There is nothing cooked that can give you that raw rush of being in control of your addiction. Notice I didn't say "cured" your addiction, I said being in control of your addiction, BIG DIFFERENCE.

now each day I wake up, I say to myself today I am eating raw foods, and loving them, I am so blessed to have so many choices in my life,

and this is good, I affirm each morning how my day will go, and it does, but trust me when I say this, it was far easier to eat raw, when I didn't have any cooked for months.

I know that my cravins stop after about 2 months 100% raw, so I am willing to wait it out, yet again.

And all I had was a baked potatoe, then some veggie burgers, that was it, I didn't even pig out on pizza or cake or anything that I used to adore.

So, when the cooked food starts calling to you from the pantry, just let it call, and know that those cravings will stop, it may take two months of 100% raw food eating, but they will stop.

it has been weeks since I ate that baked potato and veggie patty, weeks, but ----- I am still having detox symptoms and cravings,

Now attribute this to the fact that I was 100% raw for several months, so I am going through a way worse detox than before, because I was so pure.

Live and learn, please learn from my mistakes, and processes.

Please know that you can get rid of cravings by going 100% raw, and staying there.

so, if you are having cravings, eat 100% raw, and you will feel so much better so soon. I guarantee it.

I haven't been eating like I should. I've been binging on SAD and it's made me sick When I'm eating 100% raw, I feel so much more energetic and full of life. When I don't eat 100% raw, I feel lethargic, and the cravings return. I live with a roommate who isn't raw. It will be difficult, but not impossible to stay the course.

I think that this point is very interesting. Being in control is what we should aim for, because cravings can always manifest even when we are not expecting them anymore, and if we wait for the day when cravings will be totally cured we could be quite disappointed and frustrated, and this feeling is quite dangerous.
Being in control of addictions also increase self esteem and make you feel powerful!

    RP,

The pictures that you have recently posted are a testament to how good raw is. I struggle as well but only I can take myself in hand.

I get so much inspiration from RFT.

Baked Potato (with Organic Ketchup) and Veggie Burgers are what have been holding me back too. Also cooked cabbage. They have been my weekend binge food for weeks now, and have started to slip into the weekdays. I am desperately hoping to eat all raw today. Those little things make a huge difference. I used to binge on worse, too, but I think they are easier to get rid of than the things that don'r 'seem' quite as bad. They are easier to rationalize.

    thanks all

Amberly, you are so right, they were easy to rationalize, I mean it was a potato, it was just baked, that's vegan and all, then just a bit of butter, probably was only margarine, that isn't even REALLY a food, now is it?

LOL, and the veggie patty, it was vegan, it was just warmed up, not really cooked all that much. LOL

I am so funny, it IS easy to rationalize this type of food, but it isn't raw, and it makes me sick, so it really isn't anything that I can eat.

    So.....................

there you have it, we can rationalize anything we want, and I so understand how hard it can be to give up that last little bit of our cooked vegan food that is warm,

and I know I am happy to be 100% raw again, it isnt' always easy, it isn't even always something that I want to do, but it is something I MUST DO.

Because, it keeps my head clear, it keeps my body functioning well, it keeps my mind off food and on the things that are important to me.

eating raw foods has changed my life, I love life now, I am happy and I am clear when I eat raw, I can see the big picture in life, and I know where I wish to go, what path I need to go down, and where I will find myself.

Raw food is my lifeline to being the best me I can be.
