Thread: 2 Weeks

  1. #1

    Default 2 Weeks

Starting tomorrow, until Halloween, I am going 100%. I've done a couple of days at a time, 3 at most, but never more. I've been partial for a while, then have had a huge two week binge.

Of course, I'd like to do more than 2 weeks, but for me, that's a goal that doesn't sound too hard, so that's what I'm going to start with. I'm posting, to make myself feel more responsible to do it. If others know I'm doing this, it wwould be harder to quit kwim?

    So here goes

Thank you! I haven't stayed 100% previously b/c I'm breastfeeding, and always got concerned about my milk lowering, or the taste. But I'm just going to drink tons of water and have green smoothies every day to keep it up.
I'm really hoping to keep going every 2 weeks :)

I'm excited. On days when I've done 100% raw, I've always felt so good, then when I eat SAD, I always feel so gross and bloated, and tired and fat, so I'm super psyched to do this!!!!

Thanks for all of the encouragement!

I'm with you sunshine!! I read your reply to my 'ignorant' post...I think you're on to something. I'll go for 100% until Halloween too!! Heck, I've been up for 4 hours and so far, so good....;)

One thing I'm going to try to focus on, is not what I can't eat, but how I won't feel. Focusing on the negative is something I think a lot of people do at times when things are hard. So for me, during that time I know focusing on good food won't help, so instead I'll focus on all the things I won't feel- gross, tired, fat, sluggish and so forth, and then try to focus on how good I feel.

Also, I think anytime I want to give up, I'll come to this post, and I hope everyone else joining in will do so. Promise yourself before eating any cooked food, to first post in this thread, and then we can support each other through the journey!

Too funny...I was just getting ready to post a thread about how good I'm feeling today!! Day 3 and all is GREAT! You're advice about focusing on how bad you WON'T feel by skipping something is really helping me. I know 3 days isn't much, but its amazing how much lighter I already feel. My stomach is aching somewhat, I think its just trying to get use to all the fiber. Been thru it before so I'm not surprised. My body is majorly cleaning out..if you know what I mean? ;) My hubby and I are going to a Halloween party Saturday night, so I'm already planning on how I'm going to handle it. I think the best course of action is to eat a HUGE salad before we go and I'm going to take lemon water to drink all evening. People are going to be wondering why I'm not drinking beer...I'm just gonna tell them that I'm the designated driver....which I'm sure I will be. I'm already thinking about how good I'm going to feel Sunday morning when I don't blow it at the party. Keep me posted Sunshine...we're going to do this!!!

Almost 2 days down. I am so hungry!

My problem(s) when doing raw: I do not like almost all vegetables. I really hate them. I do try to drink green smoothies, but it's a chore, but I'm doing them. However, I bascially just eat fruit, and at that, I like fruit, but not tons. I'm not a big fan of nuts either.

My second problem, is that when raw, if I'm hungry, I'll get sick of apples or whatever, so then I just won't eat. So right now I'm hungry.

I like how I feel, I like how I look, I really want to stay another 12 days. I'm committed to that. But thinking if I wanted to continue brings me down b/c I don't want to barely eat or eat just fruit, so then I tend to think why bother? But I really believe in the health benefits and I love how I feel (except for being hungry).

    Any tips?

Maybe try some dried fruits, as they might help fill you up. Are there any nuts that you like? Have you tried seeds? Like sunflower, pumpkin, and hemp? They might help give you that "fuller" feeling as well...

Also, if you're not a fan of eating nuts themselves, what about almond butter with apple slices? Or banana slices? That always makes me feel really full.

Thanks! I think I'll try to make some fruit leather this weekend. I mixed some sunflower seeds (raw) with raisins late last night, and it was very fulling!
