Yes. :) As I mentioned, the stored substances that re-enter our bloodstreams when our bodies are purifying themselves can occasion random-seeming symptoms, some of which include those that are notoriously and erroneously thought to be indications of nutrient deficiency, like numbness or tingling in fingers which is often thought to be a sign of B-12 or mineral deficiency. Sometimes a person can have symptoms that are seen as "serious" in SAD eaters because in those kinds of people they are signs of degenerative disease. I'm thinking of things like high blood pressure, increased or irregular heart rate, etc. In a raw food-eating former coffee drinker, these might be felt in addition to jittery feelings, lightheadedness, etc., because stored caffeine and other stimulants are being eliminated from the body.

Generally, in the vast majority of cases, symptoms are not serious in raw fooders. That's because disease does not happen when we are in the process of removing its causes. Disease actually takes a lot of sustained abuse, and it's only the continuation of that abuse, or its continuation beyond the body's ability to recover, that results in disease.

When you have a symptom, the best thing to do is immediately review what you've eaten recently, and determine where you can make improvements in order to lighten your body's load. The next thing to do is stop eating or eat lightly of easily digested foods. If you eat and a symptom goes away, that means you've stopped the cleansing. It's just like taking a drug for a symptom, only the body has less of a problem to deal with in getting rid of food than if you'd taken a toxic substance.

Thanks for your questions, and genuine interest.

    Warmly,
    Nora

Default Has anyone experienced this one?

:) Leaving the old body behind is great but the path is rocky sometimes.
Now i am experiencing twitching around my mouth and soreness in my hands, i should be writing all these symptoms down to go back to them later.
I'm wondering if it may be that i'm low in vitamin B-12 or iron.
Any experiences like that out there?
    Bethanie
