Default Well onto my next form of detox, here goes....

This evening my left eye started feeling like it had something in it so i used some visen drops and it seemed to help a little, then my eye started watering a lot and then it stopped. About an hour later it seems to want to close up like the lid of my eye is swollen, what can be causing this.
I haven't been around any children with pink eye, could this be a symptom of detoxing?
Have any of you all had a problem like this with your eyes?

i was thinking maybe it was a detox of contact cleanser.

maybe its a detox of eye drops, if you ever used those?

you havent eaten anything unusual diet-wise recently, have you?

if not, my guess is that its either detox, or a reaction to a chemical used somewhere in your house.

im not very helpful i guess. i tried

    :)

WOW, yur just a glutton for torture like me Bethanie!!!

    Could be several possibilites,,,,,,

~If you irritated your eye by rubbing a little cayenne by accident, that can cause swelling and irritation.

~Cayenne is used to help assist the body to expel mucous and enhance blood curculation and rid toxins (however some see cayenee as an irritant), you could be experiencing an enhancement of detox. So [if] you ate some, there's possibility.

~If you've had this symptom before, it's not uncommon to go thru "familar" symptoms as we "cleanse" of our new clean raw food eating. The SKIN is the largest detox/eliminatory organ.

I'd imagine you rinsed your eye? I always keep a bottle spring water since I don't have a filter in my bathroom to rinse my eyes if they get irritated.

Default Hi MissLinda, yes, i guess i must like pain.

:) Today my eye swelling is gone and no more problems then, i began having sharp tiny pain around my eyes and then it went away.
I'm thinking yes, it's over whatever it was and went on with my day and it happened dizziness, my bottom lip started to swell up and tingling around my mouth.
I'm so tired of this, it seems like everyday there is something new happening to me, i keep trying to tell myself i'm cleaning my body out and it will all be worth it in the end.
But not knowing what tomorrow will bring is frightening me, i can't believe detoxing could bring about all of these strange symptoms. I am glad that i've had lab work done and that tests on my heart are normal, if not i would be living at the hospital.
Well, i could write a book on what's going on in my body. Tomorrow is another day and i have to believe a better day. :)

Default Don't be frightened of detox

    Bethany,
It seems pretty clear that the cayenne is the culprit. If not, consider that all the chemicals and toxins that you've ingested your whole life that your body was not able to eliminate have been stored in various 'safe' locations on your body. When you stop putting stuff in that overburdens your eliminative channels, your body can begin purifying itself by finally getting rid of all that stuff. Those substances will be entering your bloodstream, combining with each other and forming chemical unions with the natural chemicals in your body, and the consequences can be some very strange, unpredictable, random symptoms that you've never experienced before. Or they might cause the continuation of symptoms that you've suffered for a long time. It's all good. It's nothing to fear. Fear of symptoms comes from our medical brainwashing, that tells us that symptoms are dangerous and need to be stopped before they damage the body. Actually, symptoms are the body looking out for itself.

Btw, cayenne is most definitely a very harsh irritant and does not help the body eliminate toxins. It has that reputation because its ingestion causes the body to institute immediate and emergency elimination measures to get it OUT, muy pronto, before it causes damage.

    Best wishes,

    Default Gee, thanks Nora

:) Now, i really feel better. Yes, i always thought symptoms meant "emergency measures", knowledge is power.
Also my husband looked up on the computer some things my body may be lacking and iron seems to be one of them. Raisins are high in iron and i have been cold in my feet and hands, blurry vision and tingling.
I took some raisins and put them in a glass of water and ate some and i'm starting to feel better.
Thanks again so much, no more reason for panic attacks. :)

It seems that my iron is very low and eating the raisins helped out quite a bit will now get some black strap molasses for my low iron.

I had the SAME problems a couple weeks ago! My left eye just started swelling for no reason. It looked like someone punched me in the face. It lasted overnight and was gone the next day. Never hurt though. I thought it may have been because I took an Advil (which I rarely do, but now I'm thinking it was just detox). Maybe I was quickly detoxing the Advil I took.

Default Hi Lisa, isn't it strange what our bodies are going through.

:) When you think about all the stuff we cramed down our throats in the form of what we thought was good food and all the chemicals in the form of pills, no wonder we are going through what we are.
It's better to have it out than to have to live with it.
Here's to a new and better day.
Glad your eye went down, so did mine, it was kind of funny now looking back, the more i rubbed it the less i could see out of it. I started to feel lopsided, one eye up one eye down.
You know we should start taking pictures of our detoxing eposides, looking back can be fun. :)

Now that you realize your eye episode was either your brilliant body suspending an irritant (cayenne) in water (swelling) and eliminating it (watery eye) OR discarding old stored poisons, it's not necessary to wonder if nutrient deficiency had any role to play. It is an extremely remote possibility. If you have any kind of iron deficiency in your blood, it is not because you're not eating enough iron-rich foods, it's because your body is not able to assimilate and use what it already has stored, and what you're eating. That's assuming that the standards against which we measure whether we are iron sufficient are indicative of what is optimal for a human being. I can guarantee that they are NOT. They are only indicative of what the average SAD-eating person has floating around in his/her bloodstream.

There is a lesson in the Life Science Course that covers blackstrap molasses because it was a popular supplement when the course was written (mid 80s). As I recall, it is a waste product from some industry or other, and its so-called health benefits were invented largely for marketing purposes. It is junk and should never enter a human body. This is exactly the kind of mistake that raw fooders court when they can't shake their fears about nutrient deficiency. For many reasons, it is practically impossible for a raw fooder to be nutrient deficient. To believe otherwise is to buy into the ignorance that motivates cooked food eaters to question whether a raw food diet supplies 'enough' nutrients, when they mindlessly destroy theirs with fire.

When symptoms strike, it's best to be kind to the body and decrease its load. Either stop eating and drink only water or eat foods that are easy to digest (juicy fruits, celery and the sweetest lettuces) and in small quantities. Let the bad stuff come out. :)

    Warm regards,
    Nora

Default I haven't purchased the molasses yet.

:) Thanks for telling me that. Now when i ate the raisins-organic of course last night the tingling went away and the jittery feeling and lightheadness left so am i looking in the wrong area thinking that it's a problem with my iron?
It would be nice to be pointed in the right direction.
Thanks for your information, it is very helpful. :)
