    Default Gingergold apples

Gingergold Apples are so good! They aren't too sweet, so they are satisfying but addicting and I have been eating about 4 at one time. I love the fall for it's apples! MMMM

    Default Gingergold apples

I hate to sound stupid but what are Gingergold apples and where do you find them? I love apples, especially really sweet apples, but they don't love me - my digestive system that is. So if there is an apple out there that I have not tried I would love to find it and maybe this will be the one that my stomach can take.

    Thanks.

goingtoraw, my recommendation for you is to go directly to an orchard if there's one near you, and get some apples that are fully and truly ripe and try that.

Apples will keep if chilled usually for at least two months, some varieties much longer than that, so I like to stock up in season.

So many of the apples in the stores are picked befure they have fully ripened and I suspect that has something to do with stomach issues. When I eat fully truly ripe apples I have no problems, but I get achy otherwise.

My guess is it's less the variety than it is beause most apples in the stores are less than fully ripe.

I usually get Spartans, Empires, Red Delicious, then for longest keeping IdaRed, and Northern Spy (which I don't like as much as the first ones but they keep). The Empires and Red Delish last til about Christmas, the last two can last until the next year, say Feb, March. They also have way more antioxidants when properly ripened. Way cheaper too, not waxed, many other benefits from taking the time to stock up on apples directly from an orchard.

I think that gingergold are normally on the east coast. I am in NY, but apparently they were "discovered" in VA. They d not make me gasy, I am having digestive issues these days, and I haven't had my gingergold apples around.... I actually wonder if it is connected... maybe these new apples are not agreeing with me

    Default Apples

Thank you guys so much for the responses about the apples. I am going to try your suggestions. I really love apples and they are so filling. I would hate to not be able to eat apples for the rest of my life because my body does not digest them well. I don't have that problem with any other fruits.
