Exclamation I am making the commitment

I have been a lurker and raw for 3 weeks. Everything was going fine, feeling great, not bingeing, skin clear, I could go on and on about the great things that were happening. Then my Mum came to stay, the first 10 days I was absolutely fine, eating raw and feeling great. BUT after 10 days of being exposed to 'junk' in the house, on full view and 'go on, have a bit it won't hurt', I caved in BIG style. So after a week of poor eating, spots, constipation etc I decided it is time to stop lurking and make a commitment.
Today I am back to raw and when I took my Mum to the station I asked her not to bring 'junk' with her next time she visits. I am committing to the 30 day challenge. I am British but currently living in the Netherlands, which is ok for fresh fruit & veg but I have to order quite a bit of stuff from the UK like Goji berries etc.

I have a very sweet tooth but on raw I really crave savoury food - how strange is that! Has anyone else found that?

Looking forward to feeling great again!

    I Millie.
Welcome to the forum. We have others from both of your countries so you should feel right at home.
I think that the 30 day challange is a great idea and exactly what you need right now.

Hi Milly welcome it is so nice to meet you, I am from the UK also but live in the US and before moving here I also lived in the Netherlands, I loved it there, what part are you in?. Anyway i was sorry to hear about the food issue with your Mum sometimes temptations are just so hard but we all have slips and the fact that you have committed to getting back to raw is great. Good luck with the 30 day challenge.
    Take Care

    Welcome Milly!
The more raw you eat, the more those cravings will fade. You will learn to listen to your body and crave living foods. It's just the nature of things. We weren't born craving junk. We've been programmed (if you will) over the years to eat that way. Eating raw is something you have to re-teach yourself. But it's so easy. Your body will help you. Learn to listen to it. Take heed in what it says.
Also - the banana up top? Excellent search tool. I've learned a lot.
Have fun with this journey in your life and welcome to the raw world!!!

Hi - you don't really need goji berries, cacao, and all that. It's not any more healing than fresh foods. I think most of us just use it because it's made available. If some of these foods weren't easy for me to buy, I would not have them in my diet, and probably for the better.
