Default Help! I can't get 100 perfcent back to raw!

I was raw for 6 months, then had off and on for 10 days cooked, then I was raw for 3 months and then again fell off(had awful cravings for 2 days and gave in). Now I have really hard time getting back. Ideas, please!

Stop eating non-raw food. Simple as that.

Oh yeah, and have a lot of raw food. You might probably be eating want to eat SAD food more because you don't have a big variety of delicious raw food.

What is it that you're eating that is not raw? And what percentage are you currently?

If you can't start raw right now, tomorrow's a new month - just start on October 1st!

-Get a plan. You CAN make recipes to simulate and duplicate your cooked food dishes. In the end - what you really want will win out. If you really WANT cooked food (deep down) you'll find a way to get it. If you REALLY want to eat healthy.....you'll find a way to do it. A deep motivation wins out over a shaky discipline...LOL.

-There IS a level of raw food eating that you ARE comfortable with right now. Start from YOUR level and stretch from there. Don't let visions of what you are not distract you from fully being who you are right now. Because only who you are right now will make any kind of future for yourself.

You've got such great advice here.

I find that there is more than just the food that keeps me raw.

it is my attitude about what I am moving towards.

Now, I also use the pain of eating SAD to keep me moving away from eating SAD, but I can usually justify that a bit, by telling myself I will only eat just a bite, but we all know that never happens. LOL

So, this is how I do it.

I take a look at where I am, I take a good look, you can use your weight, or blood preasure, or what ever you wish to change about your life, energy level, etc.

and take a look at where you wish to go with that same thing.

So, do you wish to lose weight? do you wish to gain health? do you wish to get off a diabetes medication? etc.

and put that up on a chart, or in your mind works too, but get it down somewhere that you can really notice it, now decide where you wish to be, and each day, each meal, each bite, will either take you closer to your goal or further away from your goal. for me, I like to move towards my goal/focus, and away from my challenges in life.

so, it is pretty easy for me to see the forward movement, and I continue to weigh myself and look at the way my face looks and the amount of people who tell me I am beautiful or radiant, or looking younger or whatever each day, those are always wonderful to add to my moving toward place.

I also make sure I have lots of wonderful foods in my home, baskets of fresh fruit, that is my favorite, and fresh veggies, and raw brownies, and ice creams, and tons of Alissa's recipes in my freezer so I will never feel like there is nothing to eat.

I also make soups and freeze them too, easy to take with and thaw on the road.

I always have nuts and dried fruits too, and my credit card or cash, so if I am ever on the road, and can't get home, I can always buy food, instead of eating something cooked like a candy bar to "feel" full.

There are lots of things you can do to keep yourself on track, but the number one thing you MUST HAVE is the Burning Desire to change, and CHANGE YOUR LIFE NOW!!!, this is the ONLY way you will have lasting change in your lie, the ONLY way.

good luck in all of your choices, and remember, NO ONE IS PERFECT, we have ALL slipped and eaten cooked, and had to start over, you are now among us illustrious upon this board, welcome.

Now, get out there and eat raw food!, You'll be glad you did.!

Hi... Already such great thoughts and ideas shared by everyone...

I also agree with David... there is probably a level of eating raw you're comfortable with right now. Perhaps rather than trying to be all or nothing with this... you could add in raw eating and build on that... to whatever level you are comfortable with... and eventually 100% if that is your goal.

For me, I've learned that I am much more successful with things when I don't try for perfect circumstances in what I'm doing. When I thought like that... I was slower to get started with goals and more likely to give up. I made it too hard for myself before... now I am finding it much easier and I'm accomplishing so much more.

If you value eating raw right now... just hop in and add some of it in... and build on it... and feel positive about what you are doing. And, enjoy it! Let it be a positive, and fun experience in your life... to whatever level of raw you're comfortable with... which may vary at different times.

    All the best...
Whatever the question... love is the answer

It all begins in the MIND! Determine which is really most important to U - to be 100%, or to be partly raw & still allow a certain percentage of cooked. Get very clear about your priority and then make the DECISION to COMMIT. Once U make a commitment to whatever level U are most comfortable with, it's much easier to stick to it. If U are unsure exactly where U draw the line, then everything is wishy-washy, & it's easy for more & more things to slip on into your diet.

Your timing is perfect - like Sharon said, start tomorrow, it's a new beginning. Join in the 30 day challenge so that U feel accountable to someone outside yourself. Plus gain support & inspiration from the others facing the same struggles.

surround yourself with nothing but raw food so you dont have much of a choice. or if that isnt possible..buy a plethora of raw food so you have an abundance of choices.

and variety in what you buy might help maybe..does for me. that way if im not craving one of those 82 apples, i always have mushrooms or avocado or something else
