Default Foods you wish you could enjoy!

A while back I started a thread called Foods you wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole that you now enjoy eating.

How about those fruits and vegetables you still have not been able to get to love?

    For me -

    Tomatoes by themselves.

    Eggplants.

    Beets.

    Cauliflower.

    Durian.

    Papayas

    Fresh figs.

    Raspberries by themselves.

Which ones do you wish you could really love?

Avocados - like them in dressings or blended into something, but not by themselves

Mushrooms - The stuffed portobellos, the pesto stuffed mushrooms, Honeybeejoy's fajitas...all sound and look so good! It seems so many recipes use them but I just canNOT get over the fact that they're...mushrooms and/or a fungus (*jitters*)

Young Thai coconut and the water/milk inside

Peppers plain (red, orange, yellow variety) - love 'em IN stuff, but not alone

    Beets

Rasberries alone (my daughter LOVES them...too tart and seedy for me)

    Blueberries alone

I'm sure there are others, but these are off the top of my head

    For me:

Spinach - gotta be in a smoothie

Celery - gonna get some almond butter to put on it

Zucchini and cauliflower - not sure what to do about them...

The water inside the coconuts is weird to me. I try to convinve myself it is a tasty treat... but nope. I can't do it. I LOVE it mixed in my smoothies though!
Apricots, Nectarines and Pears (by themselves) don't really do anything for me.

Sharon, how did these fresh figs smell? they have to smell and taste a bit like
vanilla. I did eat a very good one today and can't forget it.

But I also used to try them and did eat bad tasting ones, I think the most
figs sold are bad quality, so many people dislike them

Radishes are the only food I can think of that I really don't care for. Everything else I like. Figs are my favorite. I've probably had about ten pounds of fresh figs in the past couple weeks. I was going through a phase where that was just about all I was eating. I would eat two or three pounds in a day!
