Best choice to make in a restaurant
Tonight I'm goin out for a meal with my friend for her birthday, and I was wondering what the least toxifying type of thing would be to choose? Im pretty sure they don't have salad, and if they do its limp lettuce thats been out all day, so pretty much no nutrition or taste there anyway. So if theres no salad, what cooked thing would be the best to choose?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

A fresh fruit plate or salad (with everything on the side) is a great choice. Some people here say ordering a plate of raw veggies is great too. If it's a Mexican restaurant fresh guacamole is wonderful with a plate of lettuce or bell peppers, celery, etc. for dipping.

Find out what restaurant, call them and ask what they have and if they can or are willing to accomodate you. IF necessary, bring your own food plus a dessert for all to share.

It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

The most I have brought into a restaurant is my own dressing for salad or some fruit.
Do they really allow you to bring in your own food and dessert without trying to stir up some trouble??
One of my friends told me to tell them that I am on a special diet if they say something.
Just curious what others do when out in a restaurant!!

I won't even eat in restaurants anymore. If I go with my husband I ask him if we can share a plate and then just lightly nibble a little off his plate every now and then to look like I'm eating. Or I will say that I had a late lunch and ate too much and am too full to eat. Maybe I'll get a drink or something.
I'm sorry but I just really really hate eating out. I hate restaurants. I am not 100% raw and will eat some cooked things at home, but at least I know what they are and what is in them. I eat close to 100% organic. And certainly 100% vegan. I used to be fine with eating out. Before getting on a raw/health/organic kick I was eating vegetarian and would just order whatever they told me was vegetarian on the menu. No big deal. Now with always eating at home, reading the labels on everything and always choosing organic I don't like to eat out. I can't read any ingredient labels, I don't know how much pesticides are on the foods, if they were commingled or contaminated with the animal foods in the kitchen, what kind of oils or sweeteners are used in the foods etc. The control freak in me kind of freaks out now. Funny how less and less acceptable it's all becoming to me. I would rather go to a supermarket or just take some raw bars with me or something. The horrible thing is I feel like this uptight phobic freak or that maybe people think I'm anorexic and don't eat, when I actually eat a lot at home. I always feel dread and hate it when I have to go to a restaurant to hang out and visit with friends and family. I hate that social gatherings always revolve around food. I have tried in the past to just relax and make exceptions, just eat what I normally wouldn't at a restaurant or someone's house, but I always regretted it afterwards and felt gross and tainted. I don't know why I should have to subject myself to that just to be "polite".

What a wonderful idea!
Also, I agree with rawspberry - I hate going out to eat. There are 2 chefs at 2 different restaurants that understand raw eating, so if it is my choice of where to dine, I'll choose one of those. Other than that - I prefer to stay home!

A funny (not really) story:
I did go to a restaurant with a group of teachers on Inservice day. I asked the waitress what raw foods they had. I'd take an asst. of veggies or fruits. Anything, really. She said they had NOTHING. So I drank water. Then...at the table next to us, she brought the diner the most gorgeous salad! Fresh romaine, tomatoes, onions, avocado, etc. I'm like What the ????? she obviously is c-l-u-e-l-e-s-s!!!!!
