just starting today...give success stories and advice!!!!
Hello my raw buddies. :) I am 24 years old, and today is my first day of venturing into the raw world. I have decided to simply begin by doing the 30 day challenge and seeing what happens after that. I just moved to NYC a couple of weeks ago, and I have researched a lot of great raw food resturants. Problem: this can get very pricey. So I am going to limit my eating out at the resturants. I am going to allow myself a "splurge" raw meal on sundays where I can spend a bit more on it. During the week, though, I have to stick mostly to fruits and veggies. I live right by a fantastic fruit/veggie market where I can get a ton of stuff for about $10. Probably enough for two days...that's how cheap it is. So I think eating this way will probably save me money. I figured it out and making a carrot juice/frozen banana smoothie will set me back about $0.80. Not bad, eh? So, any advice you have as to how to do this successfully, please give me ideas. I am doing this to see how I feel and look at the end of the 30 days. I would like to lose weight, but mainly, I want more energy and a healthy glow. Please tell me your success experiences. I am also thinking of joining a raw food group here since there seems to be so many. Sooooo...here I go!!! Wish me luck. :)

Hi, welcome!! :)
My best advice would be to go back and read these forums, many of the questions you asked are discussed therein. That's what I did when I first went raw, I spent hours going through many different threads.
Also, good luck. NYC is a great place to go raw. You've got food coops, veggie markets, access to all kinds of exotic fruits, and some of the best raw restaurants in the world.
haul that hammer up over your shoulder.
swing bolder, and bolder.

I am glad you have a good resource for the fruits and veggies. I have found out the you can buy a lot of raw nuts at sams club and costco for a lot cheaper than the stores. If you have them in your area it would be worth getting a membership to. However they are not organic
