Default where can I find a dehydrator that isn't REDICULOUSLY expensive?

I have a dehydrator right now, but it's one of the round ones and it doesn't really work - it won't make breads and I have to leave fruits in for 3 days to fully dry. I'm looking into an Excalibur, but where can I find a relatively inexpensive one?

The square ones are usually higher, yes.

But if you look at it this way - if you purchased all those dehydrated foods instead of making them yourself it would not be long before it pays for itself.

I've had my Excalibur 9 tray for many years and have never experienced problems with it and I've even used it to sell my crackers and goods to some local folks, so it was worth every penny.

    Hi..

I would recommend the excalibur too, the 9 tray. Yes, it's quite expensive, and especially so when people are on budgets..but I look at it as a trade off. If I buy the very best that I can now, it will serve me well, and for long after I have forgotten the price.

If funds are difficult now, try to use what you have now and maybe you could try putting a few dollars aside each week and build up to the purchase. The dehydrator is well worth the price if you use it a lot...and even if only use it occasionally. Another thing that you might do is to give thanks for the dehydrator. Just a simple thank you Lord for giving me my new excalibur, I appreciate it so much... I have found that when we express gratitude for that which we want BEFORE we have it, we tend to get it.

Cheapest I found on a new Excaliber was $185 at a site called 877MYJUICER.com. That was for a 9 tray including shipping!

I bought my 4-tray excalibur used for $75 from someone at www.craigslist.org. Craigslist is good, depending on where you're living.

    Default Used Excaliber

Believe it or not, a friend of mine find an older Excaliber model at a thrift store for only 5 dollars! And it works great! Yard sales might also be somewhere good to look.

The excaliber brand is the best, especially for specialized drying and low temperature baking.
Check out different sites. I recommend the 9 tray model since it is more efficient to do a lot at the same time. I foud it for a reasonable price in this site

I have the Nesco but I have nothing to compare it to. My FIL had one and hated it because it did so little at a time. You can add trays and I needed to do that. As is, it does a very small amount. I also bought a lot of extra fruit leather sheets and mesh sheets. Works for me. I wouldn't have the space for a larger one.
