Default Oprah's bootcamp - but on raw!!!

Oprah is starting a 12 week bootcamp this Monday Feb 14th.

I've decided to go for it!

So this thread is dedicated to the bootcamp and anyone who is interested in doing it with her while getting support from the raw forum.

Here is a link to a very inspiring article she wrote - that made me feel interested.

    http://www.oprah.com/presents/2005/b...mit_main.jhtml

( if this link doesn't work go to http://www.oprah.com )

You can find all the information about the bootcamp - the exercise plan - the commitment - and the meal plan.

the only thing on the meal plan that applies to me since I'm all Raw is:

*You must stop eating three hours before bedtime. Do just this, Oprah says, and you'll lose weight.

So I'll be incorportating that into my 12 week program.

On Monday Feb 14th Oprah's TV show will be all about - how she lost the weight and how you can too - if you have a chance to watch or tape it - I'm sure it will help you with this program too.

If you are interested and need support from the Raw family - this is the place!

You can do it - I know you can !!!!

    Love

Hey, I was cruising around the site and saw that people can create their own "O" Bootcamp group. We could create one and get the raw lifestyle "out there" a bit more on her site. A little raw promotion would be great to further "the cause", eh?

Hey, Catherine ~~ I'm "maybe" interested. I don't have time at the moment to explore the link, but I was planning on start getting in shape using The Miracle Seven tomorrow - does the Bootcamp require a certain type of exercise be done?

Default Promoting the Raw lifestyle on Oprah

Hey Rawnaturale - great idea - I'll go post a thread on her forum too for the RAW Foodies!

But my main support will be on here. I can add al ink on her forum thread with a link to Alissa's sight!

    Hey - now that's promotion!

    RawTruth -

You know - I think if YOU feel that it's your 12 week bootcamp and you are wanting the support of this thread as you go along - I say YES! Why not? You can print out her commitment sheet and write in what your 12 week exercise program will be.
I mean - we are adjusting the food program already!!!

I think for me the point is to believe I can do this - and get the support from everyone to change my entire life. Which starts by being 100% raw - and then modifying my daily schedule with exercise.

I did a search and there are no raw foodie groups. Ok, we just GOTTA get Alissa on Oprah.

    Default Forum on Oprah's bootcamp

ok - I just submitted a RAW foodie thread on her forum and I'm waiting for approval so as soon as I get the thumbs up I will post the link here.

Yes - Alissa on Oprah would be amazing.
( I wouldn't mind being on the show either - it's been a dream of mine for YEARS! )

    we could do a

Before and after the raw food diet show on Oprah.

Alissa could share her book - website - her story and then
we could come on and show photos of before and after!

    hahahahahaha!

    I need to write Oprah!

    ( don't think I won't! )

Well, the best publicity out there these days seems to be to go on Oprah. Or get arrested for a murder for hire scheme. So we'll opt for getting Alissa on the show.

If we have a raw food group on that site, we could get a lot of traffic from folks who are just curious. That's what happened to me, just cruising around on the net.

I'd like to see the raw food movement take off like low carb did. Hey, I can dream...

Wouldn't that be great! If raw could be as popular as Lo-Carb!!!! Wow! I sent the Oprah show a few emails about Alissa... back in October- I knew she was a fitness guru and she has an open mind to look at things... I never heard from them, but maybe this could work!!!!

I loved Oprahs testimony! She is so down to earth...This is a great idea!

All best wishes to you Catherine... I will read more about what it entails and I will probably join in too!

    Hi Melissa!

That is SO great that you sent Oprah a letter. I'm going to try it too!

It would be fun if you joined the bootcamp!

Default I think Oprah is the sarge!

    Since it is her bootcamp!

Of course anyone can join in and do a 12 week program based on the time they start....but for me I'm going with the start date as Valentines day - my love offering to myself - even when it hurts!!! lol!

So I guess if people want to join the bootcamp - orah.com is the place to get the info - and if they want support - and are raw - they can come here and we can cheer each other on.

    as ekkogreen says

    RAW! RAW! RAW!

Don't be surprised if Oprah's show ignores you. I sent a certified letter about the fibro treatment (using thyroid) that got me out of bed. I even mentioned that a business associate of mine that has been on the show before who also had fibro (Sugar Rautbord, she was just on Dr. Phil this week in a show about women who want to marry rich men). She ignored me. Sugar is a socialite and an author. You'd think that'd be some pull, but no..... Plus fibro affects mostly woman and about 6 million people.

Okay, yet another question...because we're raw and this is slightly modified, can the exercise be modified too as long as it's the same amount of times a week and for the same amount of time each workout?

I go to Curves. As I said before, it's a half hour workout with a 10 minute stretch/cool-down. Curves is all about resistance training and cardio.

And, does walking count? Because I want to commit to walking daily. And how about raking the lawn for 45 minutes...I actually did this today after my walk. I absolutely amazed myself with my energy, it was awesome!
Please forgive me if I'm asking too many petty questions, I just want to be on the same page as everyone else.
