Talking Excited to increase high vibration foods

    undefined

Hi I'm Lara from the San Francisco Bay Area. (Emeryville/Oakland/Berkeley). I'm a 35 year old mother of a 3 year old little goddess named Isabelle. My wonderful husband's name is Johnny. I'm a chiropractor with a booming wellness center (chiropractic, massage, yoga, acupuncture, educational lifestyle seminars) in the heart of Oakland.
I have been vegan for 4 years. When I got pregnant with Isabelle, I weighed 125 lbs. I subsequently gained a hearty 50 pounds throughout the pregnancy(yes- even with a 100% vegan diet). I now weigh 160 lbs. and have been EXHAUSTED for the past 3 years. Falling asleep at 8 pm totally wiped out. Wanting to sleep 10-12 hours a day or more. I want more energy and I want to lose the extra weight and feel sexy and "me" again!
The Universe has been lovingly pushing me and Johnny towards more raw living over the last year or so. The last 2-3 weeks, we have been increasing our raw intake from approx. 10% of our diet, to 50% and we have already noticed quite a bit more energy already. We are so excited.
I haven't bought any of the raw kitchen "tools" yet- and I haven't cleaned out our pantries thoroughly, though I am not buying anymore pasta or rice or frozen veggies.
I look forward to our future conversations as we are all going through the process.

It would be so much easier for you and your family to donate the cooked food to the food pantry and start over. When you have the cooked thing around it is way to easy to go back that way.
You will have so much energy on the raw you won't know what to do with it. Welcome here.

Welcome! Your enthusiam is contagious. I know exactly how you feel --- tired all the time, no energy. I've increased my raw foods to 75% on average and I'm feeling better and have wonderfully clear skin. The foods are such an adventure...I love my morning smoothies. :)

Welcome Lara. I agree about the energy boost from even partially Raw. I ran out of excuses for being a bit run down (no longer pregnant, breast feeding and not waking much at night) so I guessed it was my diet after all! And now at about 70% Raw I can stay up late at night!! woo hoo! ;-)

Good luck on your Raw journey - plenty of support & info here!

Default New to all of this - book suggestions?

    Blessings All,

My name is Michelle and I'm new to, well, have not even started Raw eating yet, but I'm feeling drawn to it so I'm in the process of being informed. This is also the first chat group I have participated in. I've been practicing yoga for 14 years, have been teaching for 10 and now work as a Life Coach as well. Health has, and always will be, priority number 1 for me. Looking forward to learning more about Raw Food and getting to know some new and interesting people.

Please suggest good book for beginner. Also any web sites that might be of benefit as well.

    With Gratitude
    Michelle

Hi Michelle -- if you haven't already done so, be sure to start your own Meet and Greet thread! I'll say a small welcome on this one -- and a large welcome on your own. (If you've already done that, please ignore me as I haven't checked the new ones today! :) )

    Welcome Lara (and Michelle

Yes Michelle, you'll get more response by starting your own thread introducing yourself and asking your questions about recommendations for books, sites, etc. to get started on the Raw and Living Food Discussion area of this board! :)
