    Default Kids in the Kitchen

Although our baby is 17, and is cooking, I have always follow the adage, get Kids in the Kitchen with you to help make the food. With my kids and others that we have worked with - these children always ate what the fixed, even when we did green eggs and tofu "ham" - they helped make it, and they ate even though the 23 little ones had never had tofu.

Yes, it does take Patience, but they feel rewarded, even when mine were making things with peas - the least favorite food of my children. Meredith our daughter who is now 28, still talks about how I "tricked" her into eating peas - we made damsals in the clouds, peas with mashed potatoes - infat very little potatoes. The peas were her subjects. It worked

I can get my 7 year old to help with cooking, but he never wanted to eat what we made. I have been really lucky this month with explaining to him why I want to eat the foods we have and then allowing access to the fridge at all times for grazing. He has been making excellent choices in foods and seems really happy with it :)

So you were a sneaky cook. Me too, my kids didn't like carrots but they sure loves orange mashed potatoes and even green ones lol

It's a great idea to get them involved, I showed my daughter how to make almond milk the other day and she grew impatient

I keep trying. Mostly we 'taste test' everything, sometimes I have to chase the boys around the house, balancing ingredients on a spoon to get them to taste it. lol Most times they do. I think they're enjoying the attention more than the food.

The sweets are a real hit with them.
