Does anyone ever?
really go crazy eating? Like I can barely buy lemons and get away from my sink just eating lemons with salt. And I mean like a drug addict getting a fix. I have done the same with oranges, like 10 oranges just cut and suck the juice out. Or Grapefruit which i just did, and i noticed that if you get the skin or pith on your lips it has a funny almost burning sensation. I have heard that there are actually flammable oils in the skin of citrus fruits.
I guess what Im saying is its like being on a munchie binge from my old pot smoking days and I just do it with raw and almost always citrus.
In the past I just rode it out and figured I was missing somkething in my diet, but I feel really out of control like an addict.
Anyone know what Im speaking of or had that feeling like you lost it?
This to me is a perplexing situation and I am really interested in other thoughts, opinions or experiences.
thanks in advance
Peace Bill

Good grief, you must be reading my mind or something. I am talking to someone on another forum and telling them about the lemon chews I have in the dehydrator. How I kept eating the dough and now am going back for the not yet fully dehydrated ones. I just want the lemon taste! I'm not normally a binge eater. Hmmm...
I do recall one party back in the 70's where I ate an entire platter of crab wontons. My friends kept trying to stop me because I like neither crab nor wontons. Had a serious case of the munchies there.
A few years after that I made something called Duchesses. They were like a savory cream puff without the cream filling. The filling I used was butter, sharp cheddar and onion although you could use anything you wanted. My friend and I did in an entire recipe of those. After that I tossed out the cookbook. Weird little things they were. Most women loved them and couldn't get enough of them but men didn't usually like them. Can't remember now what the deal was but my friend was in turmoil about something and the stress of it caused us to pig out.
Another time I remember eating a huge bowl of peanut butter mixed with chocolate syrup and chocolate chips. Actually it was more like I "made" a huge bowl of it but got so sick after the first few bites that I didn't want any more. That time it was with a different friend. She'd recently gotten married and it turned out that her husband was abusive. I'd picked her up after he dropped her off on some street corner and left her to fend for herself. She's legally blind. The sweets were her idea. She had ice cream with hers. I also think she ate all of hers and didn't get sick.
The only other binge I can remember was a whole package of cookies. Can't remember the name of them now. They were the more expensive kind, oval shaped with dark chocolate sandwiched in between. I was building a doll house and had been up working for two straight days. I don't think I ate anything but those cookies until I got it done.
Unless of course you count the raw veggie bingies. I've been known to eat an entire head of lettuce in making a salad and at family dinners I'll continue to eat from the raw veggie platter long after everyone else is done. But normally I don't eat between meals.

Could be that your body wants to alkalize? Lemon/lime ARE VERY ALKALIZING IN THE BODY (the best is using them with himylyan salt, the so called "haliet"

I can't stop eating raw cashews. I will not stop until they're all gone. I have had other eating fests too, though, with some less fattening foods like melons, fruits, whatever. Or a humungus salad. Sometimes I just can't stop eating!
I totally get what you're saying. But lemons? I think lightlover might be right on that one.

Just wondering...are you sure those cashews are TRUELY raw because "raw" cashews are hard to find. They say raw, but still are heated.
As for the poster...seems like citris can have an affect on the brain, especially lemons, that can cause a "high" like affect. Or your body is just looking to alkalize lol.

Sometimes I'm sure they're really raw. Like when I get them at the health food store and they cost a week's salary. lol. Other times I fool myself into thinking they're raw because they say raw on the package. Sometimes when I'm on the road performing, I take whatever I can find.

I've done my share of binging and I finally feel like I'm on a good track. I've binged on nuts, dried fruit, bananas, all kinds of things. Lemons...huh, that is a strange one I'll say.
