How long does Detox take?
I am just wondering if anyone out there knows how long the detox process takes. Also I am curious about other peoples experiences, in what way did you detox and how long did it take etc. Also if sometimes you eat fermented things or brewers yeast on occasion etc will that keep your body from detoxing and/or changing as much in order to assimilate food better? Thanks for your thoughts and opinions!

Hi Analeah,
Detoxing is an on going process that the body goes through at night while you sleep, so in that respect detoxing takes a lifetime. On the other hand if you choose to speed up the detox by going on a juice fast or water fast, the time is variable as well as the intensity of the detox. It really doesn't just start and end at some point. The body goes through what many call a healing crisis when it (the body) begins to dump loads of toxic waste, then there may be a period of rest and rebuilding of tissues and then the process may start again. Our bodies, if allowed to, will continue to detox till we can be clean down to the cellular level.
To answer the second question, any kind of eating slows down the detoxing and fasting speeds it up. Usually, the tongue can be a good indicator because toxins are released through the mucus membrane of the tongue and when your tongue becomes uncoated and pink you can end your detoxing fast.
Hope this helps. Someone else may be able to explain it better.....kirk

Kirk will switching to a raw food diet also help the body detox to?

:) Absolutely. But to truly aid the body to detox in its efforts to throw off toxins we must give digestion a rest. Fresh live juices without any pulp are easily digested giving the body an oppertunity to expend it's energy in detoxing. The raw diet will give the body the vital energy to detox and raw materials to rebuild healthy tissue, but as long as it has to use a good part of the energy to digest the food, detoxing slows down in favor of digestion.

In answer to Curtis question, I can only say that I came off a cleanse, went raw, and a week later had a healing crisis in which I couldn't get out of bed. Really sick and dizzy. This is after a week of fresh juices and some cooked veggies. So I would have to say that raw, and particularly raw juice fasts are the fastest way to detox, at least for me, and I think for most everyone.
Go for it, Curtis! Hang in there, Analeah. I am still working on it after 12 weeks, but I'm sticking!

There is no way to know this. Everyone is different. Sometimes itÂ’s weeks, sometimes months or sometimes itÂ’s so minor that itÂ’s not really a big deal.
Also sometimes you do now detox right away.

Thanks for your posts everyone :) I'm excited to learn about the tongue coating and will try and do a fast sometime and see if I can notice the coating. I think I have a better idea about the detox proccess now but I am still unsure whether I was lucky and had only minor detox symptoms or if I just haven't begun yet! I suppose time will tell!
