Paul Nison
Has anyone read any of his books? What is his raw food diet "theory?" I was thinking of brying "Raw Knowledge." Do you recommend it? Thanks!

I just finished "Raw Life". I has lots of interviews with different raw "leaders" like Roe Gallo, Doug Graham and Morris Krok. Strong message all the way through is not to overeat. Not very scientific based. It was okay, but made me anxious more than anything else.

Hi daisy duke
I have been to Paul's lecture and read his book. I think both were excellent. The book is mostly instruction and long term experience from many people. He also has a recipe book but doesn't use many himself. I couldn't put the book down until I read it all and it's a big book. I refer to it often.

I just skimmed through raw life last night!!! I loved it!!! In fact, tonight when I had the munchies, I called "Will Power Man" to help me in my fight!!! We kicked "Starch Man's" butt! :)
It's a very cute book! I highly recommend it!

It is a good book particularly if you are fighting the battle of comming off of raw food. I also think that it would be a great introductory book for someone, like a family member, that doesn't quite get why thier __ (daughter, wife, son, nephew) is eating such weird stuff! He isn't a big eater of fruit anymore, though I don't think that he talks much about how he eats now in this book. I belive that he wrote this book before he started following Gabriel C.'s way of eating.

I have heard him speak. He's inspirational. I bought his book, mainly just to support his effort, but didn't really care for it. As someone else said, it's not very scientifically supported... and honestly, if you have extra cash, buy Alissa's book.. much more bang for your buck.

I have Raw Knowledge and the follow-up book, Raw Knowledge II.
I don't particulary put much stock in his way of eating or his recipes, but I do LOVE his interviews with the longterm raw fooders, so it's a book I do refer to from time to time.

I have met Paul, and have kept in touch with him from time to time. He works mainly with Dr. Bischi (spelling?), and his books are somewhat scientific. He is a wonderful man, and I respect him greatly; however, he emphasizes everything people should "not" do more than he provides suggestions. I brought a friend with me to hear him speak, and he said that he was frightened more by all of the limitations Paul places on raw life rather than being inspired by a "glow." I think this says a lot. Not to mention, many of the issues that he addresses in his books are highly controversial (such as the issues of fruit), and he seems to shift from one extreme to another with no middle ground. His lecture made me extremely nervous, and it caused me to stop eating fruit. BIG MISTAKE. This caused a shifting phase in my life to better health, which I fully promote to this day. His books are great to educate yourself about the many perspectives on raw.
I think this is what makes Alissa fun, she allows her readers to explore and enjoy learning about themselves and their journey on raw.
