    Default vitamix for composting

Has anyone tried pureing(spelling) the scrap and pouring them directly onto plants and garden.

I read about it on the vitamix site I believe it was. They claimed that it was a better way to get nutrients to plants then waiting months for composting.

If you did this would you need a seperate blender?

I do this all the time. I've been doing it for the past two seasons and it dramatically improves the soil in the garden and the worms come like mad to live in your garden. It's called worm cocktail, I believe it was Victoria Boutenko that gave it that name, I can't take credit for it.

You will not need a seperate pitcher. Just wash it out when you are done making the cocktail. Save up your scraps for a few days, get yourself a bucket and you can save them outside if you are prone to getting fruit flies. Just mix scraps with water and blend it to a loose puree. Dump it back into your bucket and take out to the garden. I pick a few plants each time and dump it heavy all the way around the root area. The rain will wash some of it down, the rest will harden on top of the soil and keep the weeds down. Do this for a few years and you won't believe how hummus like the soil will become! You could also lift the soil up with a shovel and put the puree underneath and bury it, or dump it under a layer of composted leaves, grass or hay.

I have heard of this, but never done it. I am sure it would work great.

yes, i was gonna say- you'd have to be careful about what goes in...

It is a bit more effort to seperate things out ---- SUCH AS....

    Avo pits
    pits in general
    avo skins??
    nana skins??

I am sure the vita mix can handle certain things, but will it compromise its life in any way?

I make sure that no pits go in, but skins are fine. I've been doing banana and avo skins regularily with no problem. I've not done any corn husks as we really don't eat much raw corn. If I were you, I'd just throw the husks on my compost pile. Oh, I also do not do pineapple tops.
