Thank you Magnolia,
I will have to start adding smoothies to my morning soon. I read your 30 day raw challenge, good for you. :) I will be joining you soon, going to order Alissa's book Thursday and start my 30 day raw challenge as soon as I get it.

Welcome, Flutterfly! Curtis, there is a food combining chart in Alissa's book. Good luck to you both!

Thanks for all the good responses to my post! This shows me what I sould have already known. That the best course of action in pursueing a raw lifestyle is learn to listen to and observe how my body reacts to what I consume. Though this is new territory for me as I have been ignoring it for so long.

you are very wise Kirk
it's new and wonderful territory the more I listen - the more I hear and feel. It's a great adventure back into our instincts.
enjoy

Until just recently my self-imposed rule was "nothing but fruit until noon." However, I'm doing smoothies in the morning now to get the colon-cleanse fiber in that I'm doing for 30 days. I kind of like the smoothies, they really stick with me (water, banana, carob, almonds, hemp protein, green powder, cleanse fiber). But I kind of miss the lightness of eating only fruit in the morning. I think I'll definitely go back to fruit once I'm done with this. Of course, I don't HAVE to have a smoothie, I can do fiber in water and just have fruit. Hmmm....I guess the REAL reason I switched to smoothies is to play with my new blender. Confession time.

That smoothis is very similar to one of my favorites! Thank Goddess for Hemp Protein Powder!
I would like to tell you that if you are eating the smoothie for nutrition and not just to get the colon cleanse in, it is best to take the colon cleanse formula separate from the smoothie. Any bulking agent such as psyllium, fiber supplements or any herbal cleanse preparation will likely interfere with the assimilation and absorbtion of the nutrients (proteins, vitamins, minerals, pectins etc.) in the smoothie, or any other food/drink taken in. For maximum value to you and taste as well, take them separately by 2 hours :)
Blessings...
