Default I never knew raw corn is so good!

I just found out how good raw corn on the cob! Although people in the farmers market look at me like I am nuts, but my son and I enjoy it so much!

I just discovered raw corn this week as well. I don't know why I didn't consider it before. I was at a farmer's roadside stand buyinq bluberries and he was also selling corn. He said, 'try it raw! I eat it in the field". It is sweet and delicious. I had it with mixed with cucumbers and romaine for dinner. Yum!

I love fresh corn, it is excellent with a tad bit of lemon or lime, and a touch of sea salt.

it is also good with fresh red pepper, and cracked black pepper, and a touch of sea salt.

Me either! Although I can't stand to eat it right from the cob. Sticks in my teeth! And what gets me is the directions they give to cook it. I often see that you are supposed to get the water boiling first, then pick it, shuck it and immediately plunge it in the boiling water then take it right out. I've also seen to cook it until it loses its "raw" taste. And to add sugar if it isn't sweet enough.

I guess I assumed that raw corn would have a starchy taste like raw potatoes. It doesn't. I made raw corn salad for the 4th of July. It didn't go over well. I loved it. My mom said she liked it. The others who tried it said it was just okay, but too sweet. Too sweet? These are the same people who eat that overly sweet frozen corn. I just don't get it. But then, I was never able to eat the same corn that they do. To me, frozen corn tastes vile. I can manage one tiny bite of it, but I don't want any more.

Default I Love raw corn too!

    Fresh Corn Salad

    8 ears of corn shucked
3/4 cup finely diced red onion (about 1 onion)
    5 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
    5 Tbsp. olive oil
    3/4 tsp. salt
    Freshly ground black pepper
3/4 cup thinly sliced fresh basil leaves

Toss all the items together in a bowl.
Very different tasting and filling...I liked it. ;)

I have a farmer up the street and he plants his Sweet corn so he has it through the whole of summer. He is a genius! hehe

There is nothing that fills the comfort food zone like Raw Sweet corn.

BTW he sells 50 ears for $10 but Im afraid to buy that much cuz I will probably OD on it.. you will find me on the floor of the kitchen laying in a bed of schucks with corn silk all over myself mumbling something about Corn Tassles.

    Love it LOVE IT!

    mmmm....raw corn!

I like to put it in my raw pico de gallo. I cut it off the cob for salads too. It's awesome! :)
