    Question Lemon Peel Juice/old lemons?

I was wondering if it is beneficial to consume lemon peel juice? Why or why not? I want to add it to my green smoothie so the more bitter taste wonÂ’t matter. That way I can use the regular lemon juice in my recipes.

Also I picked some lemons that were on a tree but felt soft and old feeling and had less juice. So is the juice okay or what?

Each morning I juice half a lemmon and add to a pint of warm water and drink to clear the mucous from my digestive system. Then I use the remainder in my smoothie.
My husband does not do the juice thing but just adds his half of the lemmon to his smoothie.
Make sure that it is organic if you do this. If I can not get organic I discard the skin.

I've read that it is best to remove the outer yellow skin of a lemon and green skin of a lime (grating) and that most of the beneficial bioflavanoids are contained in the white pulp below the skin. Great to juice these and they are also alkalizing to the body.
